A Tribute To A Lost Friend

It is with great sadness that we acknowledge the loss of  Torlan's Dwells N House O Elrond at the much too young age of 16 months.  Elrond was the pride of Torlan and the loving companion, buddy and family member of the Ford family.

In such a short amount of time, this little red dog made a lasting impression on many people.  He excelled in the conformation show ring, earning 8 points towards his Canadian Championship in just a handful of shows.  Elrond loved to show!  His great temperament and wagging tail endeared him to all.

Unfortunately Elrond was called to the Rainbow Bridge much too early.  Torlan Tollers and the Ford family would like to caution everyone that heatstroke is of big concern to these little dogs.  Please understand how susceptible dogs are to heatstroke, know the signs and symptoms AND the treatment.  Heatstroke can be a problem even in cooler temperatures, if humidity is an issue.  It can hit a dog quickly and be very deadly.  Please be prepared and know what to do.

Through our loss, we hope that we can bring heatstroke to the attention of other dog owners, and with any luck, prevent others from going through this horrible accident.
