BLENDING ESSENTIAL OILS
Essential oils should never be applied directly on the skin. Instead,
essential oils are often blended into a carrier which is an unscented
base. A carrier can be unscented oil (grapeseed, apricot kernel,
almond, jojoba, hazelnut oil ect.), shampoo, lotion or an aroma
lamp.

BLENDING TIPS:
Establish why you would like the blend, or what you would like
the blend to do.
Decide how you want to apply the blend: aroma lamp, unscented
oil base, lotion…ect.
Choose 3-5 essential oils that complement each other for the
blend. For example, peppermint & eucalyptus for sore muscles.
Decide how concentrated you want the essential oils to be in
the carrier. Refer to the dosage chart in this booklet.
Add the essential oils to the carrier, shake it up & use.

BLENDING GUIDELINES:
Blend oils with similar characteristics.
Use 3-5 oils per blend and not more.
Construct blends one drop at a time. One drop can change the
blend dramatically.
Write down the ingredients and the number of drops you used
in the blend so if you like it, you can recreate it.
Create blends in small amounts until you find the blend you like.
Always mix the blend in a glass container.

CONVERSION CHART:
25 drops of essential oil = 1ml
125 drops of essential oil = 5ml or 1 tsp..
375 drops of essential oil = 15ml or 1 tbsp.
30ml = 1 oz.
1000ml = 1 litre or 32 oz.
4000ml = 4 litres or 1 gallon
