Teddy Bear Retreat at Mabel Lake, B.C.
Enjoy a retreat away from it all, where you can just focus on a fun weekend, relaxing companionship, talk teddy bears, and make a 17" fully jointed mohair or cotton string teddy bear - "Bearnard"
Dates : September 19-22, 2008 inclusive
Fabric colours and
materials vary, but are selected for the ease of handling for new
teddy bear makers. Fabrics include short pile mohair, sparse mohair or
cotton string and are made in England or Germany. The backings of these fabrics are specially made to hold their shape when constructing teddy bears.

- Accommodations
Cabin is on the lake front, and has beautiful views with large decks.
Lower level is rustic, unfinished, but clean and comfortable.
We are on a septic system with one bathroom downstairs and one upstairs.
Complete modern kitchens on both floors, but we will just use the one upstairs for eating.
Tea or coffee can be prepared downstairs also.
Bedroom 1 has one double and one single bed.
Bedroom 2 has two single beds.

35 Km east of Enderby BC on the Mabel Lake Road,
turn right on Simard Road ( dirt road ) this is cottage country or
phone from Mabel Lake Resort and Airpark store
You can visit Mabel Lake Resort and Airpark for visual instructions.
If flying in, please let me know in advance for plane landing and parking permissions

| These bear photographs were taken in the fall 2001 on my stopover from Calgary to Burnaby for the Teddy Bears on Vacation Show.
Unfortunately for me, my camera had just started having problems and I borrowed my daughter's manual Fujika ( which I had never operated before)
All things considered, the photos turned out better than I expected !
