SERIES: The MARS TRILOGY. "As It Is On Mars" is Book One in the Trilogy. "Give Us This Mars" is Book Two. "Glory Be to Mars" is Book Three in the Mars Trilogy. [A REVISED SECOND EDITION of Book One of the Trilogy, "As It Is On Mars", was released in August 2005.]
Note: The three books of the Mars Trilogy are stand alone, and may be read in any order. It is not at all necessary to read Book One of the Trilogy, or Book Two, before reading Book Three. Enough of the early history of the settlement on Mars, which mostly takes place between twenty-six and thirty-six years before the story in Book Three, is related briefly within Book Three.
Book One of the Mars Trilogy tells how a few determined survivors of failed Mars missions unintentionally ended up founding the first human settlement on Mars, after a monumental struggle with the planet. Book Two of the Trilogy continues the saga, but with the settlers now in an entirely different struggle, this time against other human beings trying to get control of their lands and resources.
In Book Three, which takes place twenty six years later, after the settlement has grown enormously, a United Nations coalition attacks the settlement with an overwhelming military force, and the desert fox of Mars make his appearance in the great war that follows.
