Revealing That Only The Wise Shall Understand!

"O' ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but  can ye not discern the "Signs of the Times" (Matt. 16:3.)

"And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end. Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand." (Dan. 12:9-10.)

"The Pharisees also with the Sadducees came, and tempting desired him that he would shew them a sign from heaven.  He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red.  And in the morning, it will be foul weather today: for the sky is red and lowering. O' ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times! (Matt. 16:1-3.)

Here we have the words of the prophet Daniel, and the words of the Lord Jesus Christ concerning the Signs of the Times.  Both Daniel and Jesus declare that the Wicked shall not understand the "Signs of the Times", but the Righteous shall understand.

The Natural, or Unregenerated man cannot understand the things of the Spirit of God.  They are foolishness unto him. (See I Cor. 2:14).

The Pharisees were very religious, they prided themselves as keeping strict observance of on going religious rituals.  They observed many outward ceremonies or rules, but they were ignorant of the Scriptures and the Power of God.  So also were the Sadducees.

Jesus said to them, "Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God." (Matt. 22:29.)

If the Pharisees in the Jewish church would have searched the scriptures, and would have accepted them, they would not have rejected Jesus Christ as the Messiah.

Seventeen hundred years before the birth of Jesus Christ; the Patriarch Jacob said just before he died, "That Jesus would be born of the tribe of Judah." "The sceptre shall not depart from Judah nor a lawgiver from between his feet until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be." (Gen. 49: 10.)

Seven hundred years before our Lord was born Micah said he would be born in Bethlehem.  "But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.." (Micah 5:2.)

The prophet Isaiah said he would be born of a Virgin.  "Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel." (Isa. 7:14.)

Hosea said he would be called out of Egypt.  "When Israel was a child, then loved him, and called my son out of Egypt."(Hosea 11:1.)

Isaiah said he would be rejected by his own people.  "He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrow, and acquainted with grief. and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not." (Isa. 53:3.)

Zechariah said our Lord would be betrayed for thirty pieces of silver. "And I said unto them, If ye think good, give me my price; and if not, forbear.  So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver.  And the Lord said unto me, Cast it unto the potter: a goodly price that I was priced at of them.  And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and cast them to the potter in the house of the Lord."(Zech. 11: 12-13.)

David said, "He would be put to death by crucifixion and His hands and feet would be pierced, and they would cast lots for His garment" (Psalms 22).

David also prophesied of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. (Read Psalms 16: 9-10).  And His ascension into heaven. (Psalms 68:18).

Daniel told the exact time when He would be born.  See (Dan. 9:25-26.)  With all these Signs concerning the First Coming of Jesus, the Backslidden Jewish Church and the World was not looking for Him, and rejected Him.  It is the same today; the Backslidden professing Church and the World are as blind to the nearness of the Second Coming of Jesus, as they were to His first coming.

That is exactly what the prophet Daniel said, "That the wicked would do more wickedly." They would get more corrupt, and none of them would understand.  "But the Wise shall understand." (Dan. 12:9-10.)

One great Theologian said, "Nothing but ignorance of the Bible, and the shutting of ones eyes to current events, will make it possible for any one to deny we are living in the last days."

Only the power of the Devil keeps back Bible Prophesies from the Front Pages of our Newspapers, and outside of the walls of many Theological Seminaries.  We are asked "How many sermons do you hear on the Signs of The Times, and the Second Coming of Jesus; revealing of the Antichrist, the Reality of Hell, the Great Tribulation and the judgements that are coming upon this world?"

Very few, I will say.  Why do not the Ministers in every church all over the land, preach on the Second Coming of Christ, the Signs of the Times, the realities of Hell and warn their people of the Coming Judgements on those who are not prepared to meet the Lord?  There is only One Answer the Same Old Devil, who kept back the Truth of the Prophecies concerning the First Coming of Jesus, Is holding them back today, from declaring the Truth.

Jesus disciples came to Him just before His crucifixion, and asked him three questions concerning His Second Coming and the End of the Age. "And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world!"(Matt. 24:3.)

Jesus answered all three questions.  While it is true that no man will know the exact day or the hour when our Lord returns, yet we know about the time of His return.  For he has given us signs so plain, and so many of them that will precede His immediate return that "The Wise shall understand".  And He said to us concerning these signs.  "When ye see these things begin to come to pass, then look up and lift up your heads for your Redemption draweth nigh." (Luke 21:28.)

What Things was Jesus talking about?  Let us enumerate some of the signs that are to precede His immediate return.  The First Sign will be a war that will engulf the whole world.  "Nation against nation, and kingdom against kingdom." The Lord said, "These are the beginning of sorrows."

Certainly our Lord was speaking of the wars that began, The World War in 1914.  This was World War Number One, and ranked second only to World War Number Two, as the most devastating, bloody, costly war, in the history of the world.  This dreadful war was triggered by two pistol shots that killed Arch Duke Francis Ferdinand, heir to the throne of Austria, Hungary, and his wife Sophia.  These two pistol shots plunged the world into World War Number One which ended four years later.

World War One was fought to End All Wars and make the world safe for Democracy.  But World War One did not end all wars.  God's Word declares "unto the end of this age wars and desolation are  defined."  See (Dan. 9:25.)

In less than twenty-five years from the close of World War One, World War Two began. This war killed more people, cost more money and property damage, than any other war in the history of the world.  It brought great changes in warfare.  It opened up the Atomic Age.  More than fifty countries took part in this devastating war.  The cost to the United States alone was more than three hundred and thirty million dollars.  There were nearly one half million of our precious boys slaughtered, and more than one half million wounded.  The total dead, wounded and missing, was more than thirty million in all of the countries.

World One and Two are only a taste of what will be the results of World War Three We are on the Brink of this war now, with more than forty nations that have the Nuclear Bomb or the know how to build it.  This war could be triggered any moment.

Billy Graham said, "This next World War, the Nuclear One, will be so great that other wars of History will seem as Sham Battles in comparison." There will be no chance of escape, as creeping death of radiation envelops the whole world.

Arjun Makhijani, lecturer and Author of the book: "Nuclear Wastelands" said, "Nuclear weapons were made to be 'Used' and they were 'Used' and they will be 'Used' again. No weapon that man has made has ever gone unused, such is the arrogance and folly of man."

Another sign of our Lord's soon coming is, the Jewish sign.  From the very beginning of the Jewish nation, under father Abraham, in Genesis chapters thirteen and fifteen, elaborate and detailed predictions were made.  These predictions were repeated and elaborated throughout the Bible.  In spite of all the suffering, displacements, world-wide scattering of the Jews, their nation would be preserved until the end of the Gentile age, and they would return to Palestine and become a nation in one day. That in The Last Days We would see "The Budding of God's Fig Tree" The restoration of The Nation Israel.

"Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things?  Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one Day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children." (Isa. 66:8.)

This was literally fulfilled in one day.  On May 14, 1948, the Independent state of Israel was established in the land of Palestine.

The Arab countries invaded Israel that same day, but the Israelites defeated them.  Even the nation was born in one day, and now has a population of millions, yet they do not have all the land that God has promised them.  Their country is now divided and will remain so until after the Armageddon battle.

This was prophesied by the prophet Joel eight hundred years before the birth of Christ.  "FOR, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem. I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land." (Joel 3:1-2.)

Here Joel said, "They had parted or partitioned the land." Any one who has been to Jerusalem, knows that this prophesy is literally fulfilled.  The land is divided, and there is a street running through Jerusalem, called "No Mans Land", and for one to cross from Jordan into Israel special permission must be granted to go through the Mandelbaum gate into the state of Israel.

The Word of God foretold the Jews would be scattered among all nations, and would become a By-word.  "And the Lord shall scatter you among the nations, and ye shall be left few in number among the heathen, whither the Lord shall lead you." (Deut. 4:27.)

"And thou shalt become an astonishment, a proverb, and a by-word, among all nations whither the Lord shall lead thee." (Deut. 28:27).

Every Historian knows this has been literally fulfilled: No nation on earth has suffered like the Jewish nation.  They brought it on themselves by rejecting the commandments of God. In the war of A.D. 70, more than one million Jews were slaughtered by the Roman army.  Sixty years later Palestine was devastated and more than five hundred and eighty thousand Jews perished. Before World War Two ended, the Germans under the reign of Hitler killed more than six million Jews. Again, I ask, "Why did the nation of Israel suffer all these things?" God's Word gives us the answer, because they disobeyed God and failed to keep His commandments.

Jesus Weeps Over Jerusalem

"O' Jerusalem, Jerusalem thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!" (Matt. 23:37.)

Any Bible Scholar knows that these prophecies concerning the Jews were fulfilled. They lost their land and became wanderers among the nations.  They became a "Byword" among the people just like the Lord said they would. Many who read this will know that for years the word "Jew" was a by-word. When Frederick the Great asked his preacher for unanswerable proof in one word of the Bible, he replied,  "The Jew, your majesty."

God did Not Permit The Jews To Become Absorbed In The Nations, Or To Become Extinct. The Fig Tree Is Budding!

Our Lord compares the Jewish  nation to a fig tree, and tells us that when it begins to bud we know the end is near. Since the close of World War Two, the Jews have been returning to their home land by the hundreds of thousands! God is setting His hand again the second time to recover the remnant of His people. "And it shall come to pass in that day the Lord shall set His hand again the second time to recover the remnant of His people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.  And He shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth. " (lsa. 11:11-12.)

"Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled." (Matthew 24:32-35)

General Allenby walked into Jerusalem And Captured It From The Turks December 1917, Without a Shot Being Fired. Fulfilling The Prophecy Of Isaiah!

"As birds flying, so will the Lord of hosts defend Jerusalem; defending also He will deliver  it; and passing over he preserves it." (Isa. 31:5.)

Note: The Lord said, "As birds flying".  The aeroplanes flew over Jerusalem as birds,  and preserved the city, thus the way was prepared for the return of the Jews to homeland.

In 1917 B.C. God promised Abraham all the land from the river Nile (Egypt) unto the great river Euphrates. I have travelled over this territory. It is certainly a large land. Israel is now only occupying a small part of the land that God promised to Abraham. The land is divided now between the Jews and the Arabs.  God is displeased with the land being parted or divided.  "For, behold, in those days, and in that time when I shall bring again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem I will also gather all nations and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for in heritage Israel, whom they have sea scattered  among the nations, and parted my land." ( Joel 3:1-2.)

Israel Now Has A population Of Millions Of People!

The deserts, swamps, an mountains, have been converted into productive land. The branches of God's Fig Tree are growing, spreading , reaching out, and bearing much fruit.  It is a thriving modern nation with modern cities. The Roots of God's Fig Tree are strongly and firmly planted. Tel Aviv a thriving Jewish city, and many other cities are modern as American cities.  What do it mean?  It is a Sign that the Second Coming of Jesus is near at hand.

Another sign of our Lord's soon coming is SODOMITE AND ANTEDILUVIAN EVILS OR CONDITIONS.  Our Lord said, "As it was in the days of Noah, and the days of Lot so shall it be in the days of the  coming of the SON OF MAN." "They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriages, until the day that Noah entered the Ark and the flood came and destroyed them all."

"The Signs of The Times" all point to the "Final Generation" of the "End of The Age" and the soon return of Jesus Christ!

As in times past, the wicked continue on the road to ruin, not knowing that danger is all around them, and the disaster and doom await them.  They that do wickedly shall continue in their blind ignorance, but the wise shall understand!        Amen!

"And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever." (Dan:12:3)
