Revealing A World In Chaos!

One day when the Civil War was raging at its worst in the United States of America, a preacher said to President Abraham Lincoln,  "I surely hope the Lord is on our side."  To this Lincoln replied,  "I am not at all concerned about that, for I know the Lord is always on the side of right; but it is my constant anxiety and prayer that I and this nation should be on the Lord's side."

This ought to be our attitude and the chief concern of all our hearts as we, today, lie in the midst of a violent society.  Unruly behavior has become a way of life and this spirit is worldwide.  Unrestrained lawlessness and terrorisms knows no bounds.  Hostage-taking incidents in various countries of the world are giving way to assassinations and attempted assassinations.  Widespread worry is being expressed for the safety of national leaders as well as of other prominent figures.  Strikes, many of which are communist backed and inspired, are once again on the increase bringing financial strain and pressures to homes and businesses alike.

We have lawlessness among our young people.  Drug abuse continues to be a major problem.  According to a survey made by the House select committee of the United States on narcotics abuse and control, little headway is being made in curbing drug use by enlisting personnel in the military services.  Drug trafficking in North America, is escalating to the point where "major assaults" by all police departments is being called for to combat the problem.  High suicide rates cover all of North America and many of these suicidal deaths are drug related.

Crime continues to grow.  Last year in the United States alone there was a murder committed every 23 minutes and a robbery every minute.  Serious crimes rose by 55% over the last ten years.

There is lawlessness among the nations of the world.  Wars and rumors of wars are on the increase.  Governments are falling.  Chaos is evident in international affairs.  Riots, terrorism, unlawful marches and demonstrations are unmanageable in many nations.

We have rebellion and disobedience in our schools and colleges.  School property is being destroyed and mutilated. Students are gunning each other down at an alarming rate. Of course when our young people are taught that they evolve from animals it ought not to surprise us when they act like animals!

While there is no easy solution to the problems caused BY lawlessness, one fact stands out before us all as a major contributing factor to the cause OF lawlessness - the departure of hitherto Professing Christian countries from the Word of God! Great Britain, as a nation, has turned its back upon God.  Less than five per cent of the people now go to church.  This once truly great country has lost its dominant leadership in world affairs.  France, for two generations, has turned its back on God and oh, how sin abounds in that land!  The United States has banned the Bible and prayer from its schools and has never been the same in power and prestige.  Canada's dominant religions have turned aside from the authority of the Bible and a breakup of our beloved nation is a very real possibility.

The time has come for the leaders of our nations to realize that God must have His rightful place and be given proper recognition if we are to continue to enjoy peace and prosperity.

Let us learn a lesson from past history:

The day after the great earthquake and fire at San Francisco a newsboy was guiding a dazed and injured man through the rubble.  As they walked, the lad philosophized,  "It took men a long time to put all this stuff up, but God tumbled it over in a minute.  Say, mister, 'taint no use for a feller to think he can lick God."

Oh, ye nations of the earth today - Great Britain, Australia, Canada, United States, France, Italy, Russia, Germany - your only hope for national immortality is in finding which way God is going, and go that Way, for 'taint no use for any nation to think it can lick God.

Lawlessness had its start away back before the creation of man.  In Ezekiel 28:14,15 we have a picture of one of the holy angels, who ministered at God's throne, becoming lawless and rebelling against God.  "Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth...Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity (lawlessness) was found in thee."  Then notice verse 16 where we find that lawlessness turns to violence:  "By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned..."

This, then, is the short history of Satan's background.  He was the angel Lucifer who rebelled in Heaven and was cast out to become the Devil.  Satan is now the god of this age who goes about like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour.  Lawlessness was the root cause of his rebellion.

It was through lawlessness that the angels fell with him.  We read of this in 2 Peter 2:4,  "God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment."

Chains are for the lawless.  These angels who followed Lucifer in his rebellion against God were also cast out of Heaven.  Their work did not stop there. however, for they now deceive the multitudes.

Verse 19,  "While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption..."  Just as God has His ministers of righteousness to preach the truth of His Word, so Satan has his ministers of unrighteousness to propagate lies.  "They promise them liberty" - this is the liberty that ungodly men speak about today and offer to the ghettos but it is false liberty that leads only to further bondage.

This same truth is taught by Jude.  "And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day...Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities" (vs. 6-8).

Jude tells of the lawlessness of the angels in leaving their own habitation and then he warns of ungodly men who despise dominion and speak evil of dignities.  We are all well aware of the fact that there is very little respect today for our police forces and civil authorities who are placed here by God as ministers of righteousness to administer civil justice for the welfare of all mankind.  Many are the violations of the laws!  Peace marches, sit-ins, and other activities are often carried on in direct violation of the laws of the land.  If one group is allowed to ignore and undermine our laws and get away with it, other groups will be encouraged to do the same.  Lawlessness leads to violence, to terrorism and it is this spirit abroad in the world today that has brought about our violent society.

Over one hundred years ago De Tocqueville of France, visited America.  Upon his return home he wrote,  "I sought for the greatness of America in her harbours and rivers and fertile fields, and in her mines and commerce.  It was not there.  Not until I went into the churches and heard her pulpits flame with righteousness did I understand the greatness of her power.  America is great because she is good; and if America ever ceases to be good, America will cease to be great."  God says, "Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people" (Proverbs 14:34).

In these serious days when lawlessness threatens the very heart of the nation, the call must surely go out for a return to God and to the faith of our fathers.  Far too long the anchor of our fathers, the Word of God, has been cut loose from the ship of nationhood.

I close with the words of Herbert Hoover who saw some of the inward decay already on its way in his day:  "The New Order, New Freedom, New Day, New Outlook, New Epoch, New Economy, New Deal, New Religion, New Liberalism, New War, New Policy, and other new things of our nation have been much overworked in trying to get us out of our misery.  All new things are not good.  The practical thing, if we want to make the nation over, is to try out the word OLD for a while.  some OLD THINGS made this country.  Some OLD THINGS are slipping - old virtues, religious faith, whole truth, integrity, honor in public office, economy in government, individual liberty, willingness to sacrifice - if they slip too far, the light will go out in America.  We have a cancerous growth of intellectual dishonesty in public office mostly hidden behind the law.  Our great danger is suicide by complaisance with evil."

Almost the entire world is concerned with the chaotic conditions prevailing today.  We are living in a new and violent society.  Thinking people everywhere are trying to fathom the causes underlying the present crisis.  The whole universe is challenged - is there anyone anywhere - who can deal with the evil and bring blessing to us?  Would to God we might see that there can be no blessing upon any nation that forgets Him!

Not serried ranks with flags unfurled, Not armoured ships that gird the world, Not hoarded wealth, nor busy mills, Not cattle on a thousand hills, Not sages wise, nor schools, nor laws,  Not boasted deeds in freedom's cause -  All these may be and yet the state In the eye of God be far from great. That land is great which knows the Lord, Whose songs are guided by His Word. Where justice rules 'twixt man and man, Where love controls in act and plan. Where breathing in his native air Each soul finds joy in praise and prayer -  Thus may our country, good and great, Be God's delight - man's best estate.

The inability of the best of governments to curb evil and to bring equity and peace, is more apparent than ever.  That is because men consider only their rights.  The rights of God and the requirements of His Word are ignored.

Our chaotic society is all the result of man's first sin which was rebellion against God.  God created man in His own image.  He named this first man Adam.  Eve was the bride of Adam.  God made her out of Adam's side.  Adam was the representative head of the whole human race and Eve was the mother of all living.  Together they enjoyed daily fellowship with God and Adam had the unique position of being lord over all creation.  They were to enjoy all of God's creation - with one exception.

The garden of Eden had two trees peculiar to itself.  There was the tree of life in the midst of the garden.  Of this they were to eat and live.  It was for their food.  Then there was the tree of the knowledge of good and evil: so called because there was a positive revelation of the will of God concerning this tree.  Genesis 2:16,17, "And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die (dying thou shalt die)."

God gave man a test when He withheld from him the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.  It was the test of obedience or disobedience.  Adam had the privilege of responding to God from an obedient heart but he chose to disobey.  The first sin was not one of immorality: it was the sin of REBELLION against the revealed will of God.  Adam's disobedience was followed by God's punishment.  Two awful things came into the world because of Adam's transgression - sin and death.  The spirit of Adam and Eve which had been alive and alight with life, became dead and dark.  They were "dead in trespasses and sins" (Eph. 2:1).  That day their bodies began to die, too, and people have been dying ever since.  God put Adam and Eve out of the garden of Eden.  Sin always separates us from God.

Man's sin of rebellion against God soon led to rebellion against his fellow man as Cain rose up against his brother Abel and killed him.

What a state of chaos in Adam's home that day!  All of Adam's children were born after he had sinned and they were all sinners for you will remember that each thing was to bring forth "after his kind."

Because Adam was a sinner, all of us are sinners.  We all want our own way.  We, too, disobey God.

It was because of sin that God destroyed the earth by the flood.  In Genesis 6:2 we find:  "The sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose."

Here we find man interfering with God's divine order of marriage in seeing and taking and choosing that which did not belong to him. "God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually" (vs 5).  Man did evil deliberately.  There was no good among them.  Verse 11 says "The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence."  Then came God's divine judgment upon the earth.

Let me remind the leaders and people of our nation today that violence and corruption which presently fills our land are strong indicators that we, also, are heading for judgment.

An interesting fact of history is that out of the nineteen civilizations that have passed away since the beginning of time, sixteen decayed from within.  The decay of death is already doing its deadly work in our beloved land.

God of our fathers, known of old, Lord of our far-flung battle-line, Beneath whose awful hand we hold Dominion over palm and pine - Lord God of hosts, be with us yet,   Lest we forget - lest we forget!

The tumult and the shouting dies; The captains and the kings depart; Still stands Thine ancient sacrifice, An humble and a contrite heart. Lord God of hosts, be with us yet, Lest we forget - lest we forget!

Far-called, our navies melt away, On dune and headland sinks the fire; Lo, all our pomp of yesterday Is one with Ninevah and Tyre! Judge of the nations, spare us yet, Lest we forget - lest we forget!

If, drunk with sight of power, we loose  Wild tongues that have not Thee in awe, Such boastings as the Gentiles use, Or lesser breeds without the law - Lord God of hosts, be with us yet, Lest we forget - lest we forget!

For heathen heart that puts her trust In reeking tube and iron shard,   All valiant dust that builds on dust, And guarding, calls not Thee to guard,For frantic boast and foolish word - They mercy on Thy people, Lord! - By Rudyard Kipling

The Bible reminds us again that it was through sin that judgment came at the Tower of Babel.  Genesis 11:1, "And the whole earth was of one language and of one speech."  Now notice the self-assertive statements of verses 3 and 4.  "Let US make brick.. Let US build US a city and a tower...and let US make US a name, lest WE be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth."  How soon men forget the most tremendous judgments of God and go back to their former crimes!  In contempt of God's Divine will, the bulk of mankind united to build a city and a tower to prevent their separating.  God had told them to "Be fruitful, and multiply, and REPLENISH THE EARTH" (Gen. 9:1).

God looked down and saw  the city and the tower and said, "Behold, the people is one...and now nothing will be restrained from them...Go to, let US go down" (Gen. 11:6,7).  Here we find that God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit visited them in judgment.  The confusion of their tongues not only unfitted them for helping one another, but they saw that the hand of the Lord had gone out against them.
God is able to bring to nought all the devices and designs of Babel-builders in our chaotic society today: there is no wisdom nor counsel that can stand against the Lord.  The record of the Bible is that people cannot rebel against God and get away with it.

Those who are concerned about current trends should realize that the only hope of the nation rests in a return to God and His Word.

God has been left out of our national affairs.  The Bible has been discarded as having no more authority than a philosophy book.  The Lord's day is not a holy day but a holiday.  The church is nothing more than an accommodation for worldly entertainment, marriages and funerals - possibly an occasional visit - and is grudgingly supported.  No wonder there is such chaos in the world today!

Woodrow Wilson once said, "America was born a Christian nation for the purpose of exemplifying unto the nations of the world the principles of righteousness found in the revelation of God." "Not gold, but only man can make A people great and strong; Men who, for truth and honor's sake, Stand fast and suffer long."

As I prepare this message it is with a strong conviction that there has never been, in all the history of the world, such abounding chaos as at the present time.  Increasing inflation, alcohol, drugs, disease, environmental disasters, wars, famines, terrorism, unemployment, the peril of communism, the threat of lawlessness, filthy immorality on the television screens, morals at a low ebb - are causing distress on every hand.  Spiritually, the day of apostasy is hastening on with rapid strides.  Godly men everywhere, who watch the signs of the times, believe the day is fast approaching when the Lord will come and this day of grace will be terminated.

Chaotic situations abound in the world because sin breeds in the hearts of men. Present day rebellion against God is a war without boundaries.  This is the sin behind the corruption, crime, violence and terrorism that we see on every hand.

In our last message we looked at several biblical accounts of God's judgment upon unrestrained sin.  Another one is found in Jude 7, "Even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire."  These people turned away from God in unbelief and disobedience and quick destruction came upon them.

This is further elaborated in 2 Peter 2:6-8,  "And (God) turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes condemned them ...And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked: (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds.)"

The word "unlawful" refers to the breaking down of fundamental laws and that is exactly what we are seeing throughout the world today. The wickedness which now permeates our society faces a judgment far more terrible than that of Sodom and Gomorrah.

It was through unbelief that the kingdoms of Israel and Judah fell. 2 Chronicles 36:16,  "But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised His words, and misused His prophets, until the wrath of the Lord arose against His people, till there was no remedy."  Let us read also Isaiah 30:9-11,  "This is a rebellious people...children that will not hear the law of the Lord: which the prophets...Get you out of the way, turn aside out of the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us."

What the people of Isaiah's day said in effect was this, "God, get out of the way."  And this is what is being said by so many people today. There is no God in our modern universities.  The philosophy is, "Let us eat, drink, and be merry; for tomorrow we die."

This attitude has been evident in some of the nations of the world for some time.  On May 1, 1932, Russia told God in plain terms to pack His baggage and move off one-sixth of the world's surface.  They gave God five years to leave the nation and while God did not fully agree with their decision, it was still their ambition to get rid of Him.

In World War II Goebels of Germany told God to go unless He agreed to become a good Nazi soldier.  Lawlessness ate at the very heart of the Nazi state.

We have something of the same spirit in our nation.  We have been told that God is dead so we can live as we please for His laws died with Him.  In the United States the Bible and prayer are forbidden in most public schools.  We are being informed that God no longer lives in Heaven but is to be found in the ghettos of modern cities.  There is little respect for God today.  But I want to say that the time may soon be upon us when our nation will be in a state of such chaos that we will be glad to recognize God and turn to Him.

Many of us can look back to May 26, 1940, when King George VI called upon the Empire to observe that Sunday as a day of prayer.  Multitudes gathered to seek God.  On June 4th, 9 days later, in the British House of Commons, the Right Honorable Winston Churchill said, "When a week ago I asked the House to fix this afternoon as the occasion for a statement, I feared it would be my hard lot to announce the greatest military disaster in our whole history.  I had thought that twenty or thirty thousand men might be saved from Flanders, but certainly it seemed that the whole French First Army and the whole British Expeditionary force would be broken in the open fields or else have to capitulate for lack of food and ammunition."

But he was able to announce that 335,000 Allied troops were miraculously saved by way of Dunkerque.  Ninety per cent of the British Expeditionary Force was rescued after Hitler had announced that it was surrounded, trapped, doomed to immediate annihilation.  FOG helped to screen the soldiers from the German aircraft.  The English channel was more calm than ever before or since.  Yes, prayer was answered and the New York Times said, "So long as the English tongue survives, the word Dunkerque will be spoken with reverence."

The Toronto Star Weekly of June 22, 1940, said,  "Thus have the thoughts of the British turned to God."

They cannot shell His Temple Nor dynamite His throne; They cannot bomb His city, Nor rob Him of His own. They cannot cause Him panic, Nor cut off His supplies; They cannot take His kingdom, Nor hurt Him with their lies. They cannot take Him captive, Nor strike Him dead and blind, Nor starve Him to surrender, Nor make Him change His mind. Though all the world be shattered, His truth remains the same; His righteous laws still potent, And Father still His name. Though we face even lawlessness And feel its goad and rod, We know, above confusion, There always will be God.

Finally, through lawlessness the spiritual kingdom of Israel fell. We read in Acts 13:46, "Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you...lo, we turn to the Gentiles."  It was the lawless mob that crucified the Lord of glory.

Violence broke out when they cried, "Crucify Him! Crucify Him!" What did the lawless mob care when the ruler of the Jews pleaded, "Doth our law judge any man before it hear him?" (John 7:51).  What did the lawless mob do when the Roman governor who examined Him said,  "I find no fault in Him."?  The mob took over and crucified the Lord Jesus Christ on Calvary's Cross.  This marked the end of Israel's special ministry to a world of sin.  Lawlessness had done its evil work.

When the disciples came to Jesus, as recorded in Matthew 24, and asked Him what would be the sign of His coming again to this earth, He said to them that "iniquity shall abound" (vs 12).  Gross injustice and wickedness will be the mark of the world's last and final generation before the Lord returns. - [ see our on-line document: "The Final Generation"]

Such chaos already exists.  Unparalleled lawlessness is being manifested in the rising tide of immorality surging over the nations. Although we hear little about this situation from modern-day pulpits, the fact remains, and secular writers are voicing their concern about it.

Some time ago a magazine used 14 pages plus its cover to portray lawlessness in its feature article, "Morality U.S.A."  Quoting world leaders, the following statements were published:

1.   "We are witnessing the death of the old morality.  In our world of masses of people, jet-age travel, nuclear power and fragmented families, conditions are changing so fast that established moral guidelines have been yanked form our hands."

2.   "We are heading into danger.  We are in the midst of a moral crisis."

3.   "Most Americans hate to admit we are in a crisis.  But its bitter fruits are all around us: the racist, the wild kid, the price-rigging executive, the pregnant high-school girl, the dope addict, the vandal, the bribed athlete, the uncared-for-aged, the poor, the criminal. Television depicts shoot-em-up violence as the American way."

4.   "I think general lawlessness is greater - a breakdown of the sense of duty and of obligation and truthfulness."

Let me remind you that these quotations come from world leaders and are not pious statements made from pulpits.

In 2 Thessalonians 2:7-8 we read, "For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only He who now letteth will let, until He be taken out of the way.  And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of His mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of His coming."  This verse refers to the Great Tribulation period which follows the rapture of the Church.  It reveals the fact that already the spirit of iniquity is at work leading up to the revelation of Antichrist.  This will mark the end of that period called "The times of the Gentiles."

What is the root cause of this lawless spirit which is causing such chaos throughout the nations of the world?

It comes from a generation that has turned its back on the inspired, authoritative Word of God.  Bible reading and prayer have been banned from our schools.  The authority of the Bible is undermined in Sunday School curriculums and church creeds, and in the various degrees of compromise evident in modern-day crusades and in the charismatic and ecumenical movements.  Once the Bible is denied it becomes easy to pursue a path of peaceful disobedience to the civil laws of the land.

The weakening of the Word of God in the churches soon leads to its rebuke in the Nations.  The almost international abolishment of capital punishment is a good example of this.  And with its abolishment there is now and will continue to be an increase in murders and assassinations.  I once watched the Court trial of a 17 year-old boy charged with the murder of an elderly man.  When arrested for his crime the boy said, "Well, I'll only be sent up for five years."  Actually he was sentenced for life but he will without doubt be released within ten to fifteen years.  Those who murder today in our violent society no longer have to fear the death penalty, yet capital punishment is clearly taught in the Word of God.

We have lawlessness among adults.  This is seen in relation to our police-enforcement officers.  A member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police told me that nowadays sympathy is more with the accused than with the side of the law.  A sergeant detective mentioned to me that it was becoming more difficult to get convictions in our law courts because of the present attitude of lawyers and judges.  We have prejudice against policemen who are God's servants to keep law and order and this prejudice often ends in violence.

We have lawlessness in the homes of our land.  We live in a society of working mothers, many of whom are indifferent towards their homes and families.  Some women are fighting for emancipation rather than taking their proper place in the home to look after their families.

Lawless mothers breed lawless children.  In previous days, before fathers abdicated the throne of the home to their wives and children, the average age of a criminal was forty; today it is less than twenty. Children who should still be roosting at home are roasting in jail.

The police department of Houston, Texas, once issued a leaflet listing the following rules for raising lawless children:

The spirit of lawlessness is manifesting itself among the leaders of the nations today.  They criticize youth for their drinking while their governments are the greatest sponsors of the liquor trade.  In Canada, for example, the national conventions of the Conservative and Liberal parties are also the greatest booze parties of the year.  Laws are no longer considered.  Now if government men and women can behave this way, who is to tell the young people that they cannot?  Are they to be condemned for following in the footsteps of their leaders?

We have lawlessness in our schools and universities.  In the beginning, most of our institutions of learning were founded by God-fearing men and women who wanted a Bible-based education for the young people.  Today the Word of God is not only denied but it is derided in every major university in the land.  Agnosticism and evolution are being taught in its place.  Professors who teach that men evolve from monkeys ought not to object when their students act like monkeys and display animal behavior  If government leaders can drink booze why cannot students drink booze?  If liberal preachers and civil leaders can break the law through peaceful disobedience marches, why cannot the students do the same?

Here in Canada, a well-known judge recently spoke out on the lawless spirit of this present generation.  But he did not blame the young people.  He said rather, "It is not the young people who are producing the violent television shows but the adults.  It is not the young people who are publishing obscene magazines but the adults.  It is not the young people who are producing the modern shows but the adults.  Why, then, blame the young people when the adults are the ones responsible and who set the examples?"

What significance does this age of chaos and lawlessness hold for the believer?  It is a clear sign that this present day of grace is coming to a close.  A lawless age will call for a lawless ruler.  In a world where "iniquity shall abound" (Matt. 24:12) and men shall "hate one another" (Matt. 24:10), human sorrow will reach its peak.  Thank God when that day comes, the True and Faithful Bible Believing Church will be raptured away for every born-again true believer will be with the Lord which is far better. Just beyond the lawless night of human history, a new morn shall dawn when "the Sun of righteousness shall rise with healing in His wings" (Malachi 4:2).

"And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh" (Luke 21:28).

"Lift up your heads!"  It is the Lord's command,  "Lift up your heads!"  The dayspring is at hand; Sleepers awake!  A voice sounds from afar; He comes!  He comes!  The Bright and Morning Star. "Lift up your heads!  Man's day will soon be o'er; "Lift up your heads!"  The Judge is at the door; His power and glory every eye shall see; Low at His feet shall bend each prostrate knee.

Time is running out.  The whole world is in a state of chaos and it is going to get worse.  Rebellion, Wars, lawlessness, terrorisms, disaster after disaster - are causing untold misery to multitudes of people everywhere.  But the terror of the Lord in coming judgment will be far worse than anything initiated by man.

But praise God it is possible to escape the coming judgment.  He has provided eternal salvation through the precious shed blood of His Son.  The Lord Jesus Christ came into this world to save sinners.  This is the glorious gospel invitation He now sends forth to all men everywhere - rich or poor, religious or irreligious, educated or uneducated, young or old - "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth My word, and believeth on Him that sent Me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life" (John 5:24).

Let Us Pray Together--

PRAY: "God be merciful to me a sinner. Receive me now for Christ's sake. Cleanse me from my sin by your precious blood, shed on the cross for me; lead me to be Baptized and fill me with your Holy Spirit. Teach me to pray each day; to read Your will for my life from your word, the Bible; and help me to worship and serve You in the fellowship of your church. I thank you Lord Jesus Christ. AMEN!
