Activities

The job description is as follows:

  1. Your first step is to meet with your group and read through the web quest.
  2. Once you have read through the tasks involved, you should decide as a group as to what jobs each person will do to complete the assignment.  You will take on different roles, and remember to take turns working on the different parts of the project.   For example, your group could have a recorder to write down all the information; a time keeper to keep everyone in the group on task; a researcher to look for information, and an editor to summarize the facts.
  3. The group must agree on the best way to complete the assignment (create a poster, travel brochure, or magazine report ) and at the same time, decide how to divide the work equally (make a list of each person's responsibilities).
  4. Perform research on your biome, by searching through the provided resources (See Resources and Evaluation pages).
  5. Remember to always save your work in the same place each day, such as in a folder, notebook, or computer disk.
  6. Create a rough copy in draft form of any written information you plan to include in your advertisement.  Make sure to address the animal and plant life.
  7. Work together to peer edit your written work before submitting it to your teacher for final approval.
  8. As a group brainstorm how to construct your travel brochure, poster, or magazine report.  Be creative - add pictures, color, word processed text, and other materials you feel are beneficial. Design a rough draft and present it to your teacher for approval.
  9. Once your project is complete, discuss as a group how you will present the information to the class.  Class presentations will be scheduled by the teacher.
  10. After the in-class presentations, submit your finished product for marking.
