James lived in Albany County NY, and was in Jessop's Corp. LBL. His wife met him near Lake Champlain and they travelled north and spent the winter of 1783-84 at Chateaugay or Lachine. Jessops Corp. disbanded in 1783 and soldiers settled along the St. Lawrence River. James settled in Augusta Township in 1784. He drew land in Elizabethtown Township in 1798. 200 acres, which was all of Lot 3 Con. 7, and 200 acres, which was all of Lot 27, Con. 8.
