The following information was gathered from various sources and complied by Rev. Clarence L, Cross in 1940 and is entitled:

FAMILY HISTORY OF THE CROSS GENERATIONS

Following the revolutionary war in the United States, Henry Cross left the State of Pennsylvania with his wife who was Pennsylvania Dutch descent, and came to Canada.

With since thankfulness They landed on the North Shore of the St. Lawrence River at Maitland, and soon they had built a house and barn together with other pioneers of the area.

Henry Cross's signature is among six others who met together to organize the first Free Mason Lodge in Canada which was at Maitland, Ont. After this meeting all hands paraded to the home of Henry Cross for dinner.

Not many years after this, Henry Cross and his family moved to Blocknorse Point which is on the St. Lawrence River about half way between Gananoque and the now famous Thousand Island Bridge.

Part of the farm where they moved now belongs to Blaine Moore who is the son of Paul and Gladys Moore. Gladys is the dauther of the late Firman Cross who was, for many years, deeply involved in municipal politics and, indeed, on one occasion, ran for member of Federal Parliament, but was defeated.
