KORCZAK – Victoria Pauline (nee Kaminski)    May 2, 1926 – July 27, 2008
It is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of our dear wife, mother and grandmother, Victoria Korczak, age 82 years. Victoria passed away peacefully in the early morning of July 27, 2008 at the Saskatoon City Hospital following a brief and courageous battle with cancer, and she was surrounded by her loving family. Victoria was born on May 2, 1926 in Brooksby, SK. She married Andrew Korczak on June 9, 1946 and they settled on the family farm in Henribourg, SK. Together they raised their family and started a family business – Korczak’s Farm Equipment. In later life they retired to Prince Albert where Victoria became an active member within her community and church. Victoria was a founding member of the Polish Ladies’ Club and a very active member of the Sacred Heart CWL, where everyone enjoyed her baking, canning, crocheting and especially her perogies and cabbage rolls. She is survived by Andrew, her loving husband of 62 years; her daughter Anne (Arnold) Mayrand & children Shelley, Janet, Ken & Penny; her son Albert (Sharon) and children Marlin & Ryan and her son Frank (Sandy) and children Lyle (Kari), Kristi (fiancée Sean) & Jennifer. Victoria was looking forward with great anticipation to the birth of her great grandchild in the fall. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was predeceased by her parents Anton & Rozalia Kaminski; her in-laws Walenty & Anna Korczak and her brothers and sisters. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to a Charity of Donor’s Choice. The family would like to extend a thank you to the medical staff of the Saskatoon City Hospital for the special care they gave to Victoria and family. A “special thank you” to Dr. Giede for his compassion and care. Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 – 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK with Sister Renée Buliard officiating. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 31, 2008 at Sacred Heart Cathedral, 1401 – 4th Avenue West, Prince Albert, SK with the celebrant Reverend Father Maurice Fiolleau.
