REVILO'S GUNS 'N ROSES
(FC AFC CREEK ROBBER X REVILO'S SUN CATCHER)

Briar was born on September 23, 2003 at Revilo's Kennels.  She was the single female with three brothers to keep in line. As an only girl, the choice for pick female was very easy.  Rob and Rose Oliver were very happy to see all four pups go to field trial homes with the three boys going to Al McKean, Corky Krollman and Ray Koskinen.  Here at 4 weeks old, she is just a bundle of promise and dreams in the hands of her new owner.

Wow. At 7 weeks of age in early November of 2003, she finally arrived at her new home in Chestermere.  This is great, just one old dog to terrorize and boy oh boy are the people friendly. She just can't wait to make her mark here.

Revilo's Guns and Roses "Briar"

She is very bright, independent and gregarious. At 3.5 months she enjoys the little casting drills and sight blinds as well as obedience.  Always inquisitive, she seems to be wondering what all the fuss is about and why is white everywhere we go.

Briar has grown into a very hard going girl. She finished every puppy stake she was entered in this past year.  She earned seven placings in eight trials, for a total of 16 points along the way, against some very tough competition. She even managed to beat her kennel mate Nick on several occasions. Briar ran two juniors, getting to the last test both times and receiving a CM in one. We hunted her over the fall, which she seemed to really enjoy, picking up partridge and ducks. She works in close to the gun, which is a nice attribute.

Here she was enjoying the nice sunshine and green grass between Christmas and the New Year out at Al and Colleen McKean's.  Al had her brother Bubba, Briar did her best to keep up with him on blinds and marks, including some retired guns. She is still very entertaining to train and work with.

As a Qualifying dog she took to blinds, often breaking before sent. She was number 3 in Alberta.

Briar started out her all age season with an amateur 2nd. Considering she gets the winter months off we were thrilled with this placing after only two weeks of spring training. During the rest of the season she acquired 13 points and 7 cm's with a finishing rate of 80 per cent.  The win eluded her, but hopefully she will end that drought this coming season.  Briar ran her first national this year and went 9 series.

Briar continues to be a very intense competitor and is a true pleasure to work with, always happy and eager to take on any challenge. She is totally amateur owner trained and handled. She proved this year she will work for anyone, she acquired an open second with a friend, who is a novice field trialer handling her.
