Tournament Rules for the Pond Hockey Games
teams will play three round robin games and one final
teams will play 4 on 4 plus a goaltender
No overtime in round robin. If time permits in finals, ties will be decided with a shoot out.
no off side or icing; CMHA rules will be enforced and penalty shots will be awarded in lieu of penalty minutes
when a goal is scored, scoring team must clear to the center red line; when goalie freezes the puck, attacking team must clear to the blue line; in both situations, the attacking team cannot advance until the puck has crossed the blue line
goalie must play the puck as soon as attacking team has cleared the zone; failing to do so will result in delay of game penalty
teams must be ready to begin their game 10 minutes before scheduled start time
this is a NON CONTACT tournament
major penalties will result in a tournament suspension
points will be awarded as follows: loss = 0; tie = 1; win = 2
in the event of a tie in points after round robin play, the following guidelines will be used to determine standings for the finals:
