new events planned

We are pleased to let you all know that we are entertaining the idea of having the kids toy workshop back. I joined the Lions to try to make woodworkers in each of the corners of B.C. aware of what we do for kids. I have the approval of the Chilliwack Lions Club to set up an event either at our hall or have a workshop at the Canada Day party at Heritage Park this summer.
I have contacted Delta tools to see if they want to help us by supplying the table top tools.They have been a sponsor of our society for 3 years now and we look forward to their continued partnership in building smiles for kids.
I am interested to know what members think of this idea of helping kids learn how to do woodworking. The Lions club has insurance for events like this and the Arts council has been looking for an event like this for Canada Day, so I think we will have lots of help. If things go well we might consider bringing it back to the wood show in Abbotsford
