Crescent Beach:   Summers ago while loafing along Crescent Beach with Joan I came up with a strange but simple melody which I decided would go well with harmony. The result is "Crescent Beach". Several friends have asked for copies of it, so here it is.
Dangerous Mary   is named for Mary Brunner, the superb fiddler who playes with Skystone and heads jam-sessions for odds and sods at "The Wolf and Hound". Why some call her "Dangerous Mary" I don't know: this blind musician is one of the most pleasant ladies I have ever met.
Pipe Major Mike McDonald of Surrey   is named for a friend to all pipers on the West Coast. It is Mike who with great artistry and ingenuity carries out the repairs on a hundred bagpipes a year. Mike was recently chosen Pipe Major of the Langley Legion Pipe Band. I added "Surrey" to the title, because there must be a dozen Pipe Major Mike McDonalds in the world, but he is the only one I know of who lives in Surrey, B.C.
