About Watchman Nee's Writings
Greetings, brother Troy!
First, I want to thank you for your site and all the Watchman Nee material that
can be read immediately, instead of having it for sale. The Holy Spirit
quickened something to me about a friend's spiritual dilemma that had been a
mystery we were praying about, and I immediately thought of a teaching in
"Spiritual Man" but did not have a copy myself. I went to my search engine and
your links came up! I was then able to go directly to the book online and the
chapter. I printed it out to read and share with my needy friend, and YES, it
was indeed the Holy Spirit's leading for her to begin a deeper
deliverance. Awesome, so say the least.
Besides that, I have been drawn back into Nee's teachings by being able to read
from your site, and this is significant. For almost 31 years in Messiah, I have
read Nee off and on and been both instructed in wisdom and also
overwhelmed. Like you in your much reading to seek truth, I have read too much,
and most of it has not ever been quickened back to me by the Spirit, while some
things from Watchman Nee have. I believe that is a worthy note.
I wanted to report also that I know all too well of the problem of some groups
and cults who use Nee's book on spiritual authority to abuse the sheep. I was a
participant-victim of one such group (which has been actively on the internet
selling Nee's books, along with other anointed items, in order to gain profit
for their ministry of deception). I read the book at the time it was thrust
into my hand in consideration of being a part of that ministry, and it seemed a
very good book. All of that was soon lost in the spiritual abuse of the leaders
who clearly sought to condition one's mind toward the false authority being
exalted and demanded submission to. Nee would undoubtedly cringe and rebuke
these ones who use his materials for destruction rather than edification and
life. Unfortunately for me, having suffered a tremendous fiery trial through
this experience, I was soured on Nee and got rid of all my books, except
"Release of the Spirit" (Sure Foundation). I have since regretted that action
and seek to replenish my stock.
You are the only source of understanding I have ever heard of, explaining how to
even read Nee and how the different publishers reflect or distort him. Gosh
that's helpful, brother! I can't say that enough. I knew there were
discrepancies and problems; I also know very well of the evil spirit behind the
LC/LSM, having encountered it directly by being in the employment of ones who
are part of that cult. The spirit in my boss at the time knew very well the
Spirit in me, and neither of us had to say a word about it. He hated me and
resisted me while I also resisted his promotion of false teachings that he made
his employees read! I never said a word to him about it directly, but he knew
by the evil spirit that I was resisting it. Eventually, we had some
confrontations about some unreasonable work practices, and when an opportune
time came, I was forced to resign with a letter, excusing them of any
wrong-doing in "firing" me. I loved the job but the warfare was intense.
Anyway, I have other things to ask you about as I'm reading. Is there another
email address or way that we can converse other than my coming to this page?
Thanks again and blessings wherever you need something from the Father and are
waiting patiently for it!
