The Gullibility of Ex-Leeists For Getting Involved in a Cult

Ex-lsm members carry with themselves the same character flaws for getting involved in lsm/lc to begin with, i.e. calvinism pride of believing they were the ones, and now disdain for the church in true Biblical locality as if they were not believers then and still not now. Take for example, Roger. He writes as follows,

How I left the Local Church is a long story.  But in short, I entered in FEELING like I had seen and experienced something like never before.  The atmosphere can seem like a wonderful one that envelops and protects you - especially if you are devoted to the party line. However, there were always questions in the background that I could not really come to peace about.

One was the "ground of locality" doctrine.  On paper it almost made sense.  But in reality it proved to be nothing more than a divisive and sectarian doctrine, designed to keep a small group of God's people separate and apart thinking they are something better than the rest. [note - there is the church of Jerusalem or the church of Corinth which is the proper unit for the church. Roger is wrong as contends with this fact of the church in the NT. This is something that Roger is emotionally reacting to denying the church in locality. He doesn't realize that the lsm/lc did it wrong for the lsm/lc still had a hub of lsm. True Biblical locality is God's will. Roger is like a pinball with his emotions.  The only other possibility is denominations which each have a name and corporate system that divides itself from other denominations even the body of Christ itself in Biblical locality].

Roger (Sept. 28, 2004)

It was a gradual process. For many years I was convinced that W. Lee was God's number one man on the earth. (It's called brainwashing.) Often, though, I would leave Lee's ministry meeting (I lived in So. CA.) feeling low, very low. This happened especially during the perfecting training years.

It seemed the fresh anointing we once enjoyed from W/ Lee had disappeared. We were just hearing the same teachings rehased w/ a few new slogans. Our local gathering was very precious, but the atmosphere in Anaheim was deadly. This of itself would not have swayed me to leave to "Recovery."

But sometime during the 1980s, things drastically changed. Over the years I had noticed many things in the churches that bothered me, but I would always push the negative stuff away. But there came a time where all the dark, hidden sins of the "Recovery" were exposed. Since I was an elder, I sat in many elders' meetings w/ W/ Lee during the crisis years. Lee's behavior appalled me. This was not the saintly man of God I had always thought he was. He acted differently w/ the elders than he did when he ministered to the saints. He was often cruel toward other brothers and very vindictive. (However, he did have a wonderful side to him and I still respect him. It's a complicated thing to briefly explain.)

For over a year I prayed day and night w/ tears asking the Lord to show me the real situation. If we were the church, I would stay and see it through. But there came a day when the Lord revealed that we were just another narrow, separatist sect who bordered on being a cult.

Others that have the same problem as ex-members are Untohim and Rick (these two people could both be Roger) who are also damaged goods at the calvinist barm site site. However their real problem still remains, that of calvinism pride of thinking they were premade for salvation killers of free-will, secretly blaming Watchman Nee (CFP) bearing false witness of him through various low ball unethical  tactics, or other times not even saying why, just blaming, emotionally reacting, without reason, and denying Biblical locality (ie church in Jerusalem or church in Ephesus whom there are elders responsible for church affairs, etc.) Remember, Witness Lee was into calvinism teachings, while Watchman Nee was clearly osas arminian which you readily observe by reading just a book or two of his. The way I know the lsm/lc are calvinism adherents is because all you have to do is ask them and they say they believe either all the points of calvinism or at least some of the points like a baptist, which is yet another denomination, just as lsm/lc is.

This is what I have observed and have decided to record here to help others who have the same character flaws. Note: Roger also said in Oct, 2004 that he admittedly used many emotionally manipulative and unethical tactics to bring in recruits when he was an lsm/lc member. Now he uses those same tactics to fight the lsm/lc daily. I am not sure which is worse.
