Isa. 2:1 The word that Isaiah the
son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem. 2 And it shall come to pass in
the last days, that the mountain of the LORD'S house shall be established in the
top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations
shall flow unto it. 3 And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go
up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will
teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go
forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
4 And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they
shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks:
nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any
more. [5] O house of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light of the LORD.
6 The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with
the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little
child shall lead them. 7 And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones
shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. 8 And the
sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put
his hand on the cockatrice's den. 9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my
holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the
waters cover the sea.
This
refers to the Messianic Kingdom which is Israel's portion to be the center of
all nations. War ceases in the 1000 years just like Revelation 20 says, "And
cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that
he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be
fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season" (v.3). The lion and
the lamb will lay down together in peace.
Isa. 65.12 For thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will extend peace to her like a
river, and the glory of the Gentiles like a flowing stream: 20 There shall be no
more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days; for
the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years
old shall be accursed.
In the
millennium, those with bodies of flesh and blood will almost always live to be
over 100 years of age. The peace of the nations will come.
Zech. 14.6 And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the
nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to
worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles. 17
And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth
unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, even upon them shall be
no rain.
This is
the consequence of sin in the millennial kingdom, that any nation that does not
go up to Jerusalem to worship God will receive environment hardships.
Isa. 30.26 Moreover the light of the moon shall be as the light of the sun, and
the light of the sun shall be sevenfold, as the light of seven days, in the day
that the LORD bindeth up the breach of his people, and healeth the stroke of
their wound.
Why does light increase? It is because scientifically speaking, we know the sun is going to get larger and larger until one day it burns up the earth.
Jhn 14:1 "Let not your hearts be troubled; believe in God,
believe also in me.
Jhn 14:2 In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, would I have
told you that I go to prepare a place for you?
Jhn 14:3 And when I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will
take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.
This is the New Jerusalem that will come down to earth which is the New City on the New Earth after the Millennium. During the millennium the New Jerusalem is still in heaven, since the Old Jerusalem is still on earth.
Zec 14:1 Behold, a day of the LORD is
coming, when the spoil taken from you will be divided in the midst of you.
Zec 14:2 For I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem to battle, and the
city shall be taken and the houses plundered and the women ravished; half of the
city shall go into exile, but the rest of the people shall not be cut off from
the city.
Zec 14:3 Then the LORD will go forth and fight against those nations as when he
fights on a day of battle.
Zec 14:4 On that day his feet shall stand on the Mount of Olives which lies
before Jerusalem on the east; and the Mount of Olives shall be split in two from
east to west by a very wide valley; so that one half of the Mount shall withdraw
northward, and the other half southward.
Zec 14:9 And the LORD will become king over all the earth; on that day the LORD will be one and his name one.
Zec 14:16 And it shall come to pass, [that] every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.
Zec 14:17 And if any of the families of the earth do not
go up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, there will be no rain
upon them.
This is day of the Lord of Christ's intervention in man's history in Person. This is the battle of Armegedon and Christ will return and reign on earth touching down on the Mount of Olives, on that day, the Day of the Lord in man's history. This occurs before the millennium. All of this is in reference to the second coming of Christ. The kingdom will be quartered in the Israel reigning over all nations.
Rev 22:12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward [is] with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
The millennium is about rewards, but the new earth rewards pass away.
Luk 19:11 As they heard these things,
he proceeded to tell a parable, because he was near to Jerusalem, and because
they supposed that the kingdom of God was to appear immediately.
Luk 19:12 He said therefore, "A nobleman went into a far country to receive a
kingdom and then return.
Luk 19:13 Calling ten of his servants, he gave them ten pounds, and said to them, 'Trade with these till I come.'
Luk 19:14 But his citizens hated him
and sent an embassy after him, saying, 'We do not want this man to reign over
us.'
Luk 19:15 When he returned, having received the kingdom, he commanded these
servants, to whom he had given the money, to be called to him, that he might
know what they had gained by trading.
Jesus is
pleading in heaven for us on our behalf, and when He returns He will account
those who are worthy to reign with Him. What a wonderful thought. Jesus is
busily working. My Father's work is continuing. The noble man is a type of
Christ. Jesus returns (19.13).
Mat 5:5 Blessed [are] the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
It is the earth that will be inherited in the millennium. The faith once delivered unto those who believed.
Phl 3:20 But our commonwealth is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ,
Our citizenship and loyalty is to heaven.. See next verse.
Rev 21:2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
The New Jerusalem will come down from heaven to earth in the New Earth after the millennium.
1Pe 1:4 and to an inheritance which is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you,
The inheritance is in and from heaven for his resurrected children, and Jesus takes that inheritance to us.
Rev 3:21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
Jesus is currently on His Father's throne, but He has not yet taken His position in glory after He returns. He will establish His rulership over the earth. What rulership, what throne is His that He will own?
Isa 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Isa 9:7 Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David, and over his kingdom, to establish it, and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and for evermore. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will do this.
Luk 1:32 He shall be great, and shall
be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the
throne of his father David:
Luk 1:33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom
there shall be no end.
The throne of David is on earth where Christ will reign.
Dan 2:44 And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, [but] it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.
After Jesus returns the millennium begins. After the New Jerusalem comes down, only then does the New Heaven start and the new city on the New Earth.
Dan 7:13 I saw in the night visions, and, behold, [one] like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.
Dan 7:21 I beheld, and the same horn
made war with the saints, and prevailed against them;
Dan 7:22 Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the
saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the
kingdom.
The Saints receive the kingdom in the millennium on earth immediately upon His return. The little horn makes war and then the reigning is rewarded, immediately.
Dan 7:27 And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom [is] an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.
Whole heaven gives way to the Saints of the Most High on earth.
Rev 20:6 Blessed and holy [is] he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
A millennium is 1000 years on earth reigning with Christ.
Is. 11.9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.
Note that it says the "earth", not the "new earth". Since this knowledge does not exist today widespread accepted as fact, nor will it even be in the Tribulation, and since this verse does not refer to the new earth, it must refer to the millennium yet to come at Christ's return (His millennial reign with His overcomers). Many unfaithful will say the millennium is now. Don't believe them.
The classification of the living creatures according to Genesis are six in number: (1) aquatics, (2) birds, (3) fowls, (4) creeping things, (5) beasts, and (6) man. But according to Rev. 4.7 there are only four kinds: (1) lion – the mightiest among beasts (Prov. 30.30); (2) calf – the biggest among domesticated animals; (3) man – the mankind on earth (this does not signify the church, for in the kingdom era the knowledge of God will fill the earth – see Is. 11.9). During that era there will be a difference in the church between the saved and the overcomers; but in the new heaven and the new earth there will no longer be such a difference. Though at the kingdom age men on earth may believe in God, there will be no baptism in the Holy Spirit, and hence they cannot become the body of Christ. They can only believe as individuals. In the new heaven and the new earth they will be restored to the state of Adam before the fall. They shall eat fruits, require sleep, enter into marriage, and beget children, though they will no longer die, be sick, sin, or be tempted by the devil. And (4) eagle – the king of birds. (Watchman Nee, Come, Lord Jesus, CFP, p. 63)
Matt. 19.28 “Ye who have followed me” – Those who emulate Christ in going the narrow way, taking up the cross with patience and humility. “In the generation” – This word “regeneration” is used twice in the Bible: once in Titus 3.5 where it points to personal recovery – which is being born again, and here in this verse 28 where it refers to the recovery of the world – the consequence of which is the millennium (see also Rom. 8.19-23 and Is. 11.6-9). From Adam until Moses sin was in the world (Rom. 12.14), and from Moses until the Lord Jesus sin reigned (see Rom. 5.12-14, 21). All who are born again in this age are delivered from the power of sin. Likewise in the regeneration of the world, first comes the deliverance from the power of sin (for Satan is bound for a thousand years – the period of the millennial kingdom – which is done by the Lord and not through any social reform done by men), and then shall come the new heaven and the new earth with deliverance from the presence of sin. (W. Nee, King and the Kingdom of Heaven, CFP, p. 235).
Isa 4:1 And seven women shall take hold of one man in that
day, saying, We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel: only let us be
called by thy name; take thou away our reproach.
Isa 4:2 In that day shall the branch of Jehovah be beautiful and glorious, and
the fruit of the land shall be excellent and comely for them that are escaped of
Israel.
Isa 4:3 And it shall come to pass, that he that is left in Zion, and he that
remaineth in Jerusalem, shall be called holy, even every one that is written
among the living in Jerusalem;
Jer 23:5 Behold, the days come, saith Jehovah, that I will
raise unto David a righteous Branch, and he shall reign as king and deal wisely,
and shall execute justice and righteousness in the land.
Jer 23:6 In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely; and
this is his name whereby he shall be called: Jehovah our righteousness.
Zec 6:12 and speak unto him, saying, Thus speaketh Jehovah
of hosts, saying, Behold, the man whose name is the Branch: and he shall grow up
out of his place; and he shall build the temple of Jehovah;
Zec 6:13 even he shall build the temple of Jehovah; and he shall bear the glory,
and shall sit and rule upon his throne; and he shall be a priest upon his
throne; and the counsel of peace shall be between them both.
Israel will become the center of all nations after Jacob's trouble. Christ will reign for 1000 years. A remnant nation of the Jews will finally believe in Christ at His appearing on the mount of olives who will be both peace and harmony between Himself and the world. Isa 4.5-6 speaks of a place as the center of the world from which reigns judgment, a covering, and a refuge. Finally the millennial kingdom will have begun.
Hbr 8:9 Not according to the covenant that I made with
their fathers In the day that I took them by the hand to lead them forth out of
the land of Egypt; For they continued not in my covenant, And I regarded them
not, saith the Lord.
Hbr 8:10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel
After those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, And on
their heart also will I write them: And I will be to them a God, And they
shall be to me a people:
Hbr 10:16 This is the covenant that I will make with them
After those days, saith the Lord: I will put my laws on their heart, And
upon their mind also will I write them; [then saith he,]
Jer 31:32 not according to the
covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand
to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I
was a husband unto them, saith Jehovah.
Jer 31:33 But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel
after those days, saith Jehovah: I will put my law in their inward parts,
and in their heart will I write it; and I will be their God, and they shall
be my people:
Jer 31:34 and they shall teach no more every man his neighbor, and every man his
brother, saying, Know Jehovah; for they shall all know me, from the least of
them unto the greatest of them, saith Jehovah: for I will forgive their
iniquity, and their sin will I remember no more.
Eze 36:25 And I will sprinkle clean
water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all
your idols, will I cleanse you. (This is
the New Covenant)
Eze 36:26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put
within you; and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will
give you a heart of flesh.
Eze 36:27 And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my
statutes, and ye shall keep mine ordinances, and do them.
Eze 36:28 And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and
ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.
This has not happened yet.
Jhn 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except one be born anew, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Jhn 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except one be born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God!
Spiritually a believer is today in the kingdom of of God; prophetically he will enter the millennial kingdom of God in the future and the kingdom of God in eternity of future after the millennium.
Isa 9:1 But there shall be no gloom to her that was in anguish. In the former time he brought into contempt the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali; but in the latter time hath he made it glorious, by the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the nations. (Christians have a foretaste now, the new covenant now, while Israel waits for its fulfillment and promise, and all the nations of the world are under the reign of the overcomers in Christ and Christ).
Isa 9:2 The people that walked in
darkness have seen a great light: they that dwelt in the land of the shadow of
death, upon them hath the light shined.
Isa 9:3 Thou hast multiplied the nation, thou hast increased their joy: they joy
before thee according to the joy in harvest, as men rejoice when they
divide the spoil.
Mat 4:14 that it might be fulfilled
which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying,
Mat 4:15 The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, Toward the sea, beyond
the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles,
Mat 4:16 The people that sat in darkness Saw a great light, And to them that sat
in the region and shadow of death, To them did light spring up.
Isa 9:4 For the yoke of his burden, and the staff of his shoulder, the rod of
his oppressor, thou hast broken as in the day of Midian.
Isa 9:5 For all the armor of the armed man in the tumult, and the
garments rolled in blood, shall be for burning, for fuel of fire.
Isa 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the
government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called
Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Isa 9:7 Of the increase of his government and of peace there shall be no end,
upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to establish it, and to uphold
it with justice and with righteousness from henceforth even for ever. The zeal
of Jehovah of hosts will perform this.
These are shades in speaking. Isaiah 9.1a, 9.2, 9.3a, 9.6a, and 9.6c are fulfilled according to Jesus in Matt. 4.15-16. But Isaiah 9.1b, 9.3b-c, 9.4-7 have not been fulfilled according the millennial kingdom to come. That is, the millennial reign of Christ with His overcomers (Rev. 20.4).
Luk 14:14 And thou shalt be blessed; for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just.
Luk 20:34 And Jesus said unto them,
The sons of this world marry, and are given in marriage:
Luk 20:35 but they that are accounted worthy to attain to that world, and the
resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage:
Luk 20:36 for neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels;
and are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection.
The time of recompense is none other than the
time of the millennial kingdom, and the resurrected can not be taken in
marriage.
Isaiah 33.5 The LORD is exalted, for he dwells on high; he will fill Zion with justice and righteousness;
Isaiah 33.6 and he will be the stability of your times, abundance of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge; the fear of the LORD is his treasure.
