Witness Lee Differed with Watchman Nee about the New City

Leeists believe they are God so they don't need a new city with foundations.

Watchman Nee believed the New City would be a physical city, and he gave a 17 point proof to this fact. Witness Lee never overturned this proof, so Witness Lee merely self-declaring that the New City is not physical is just self speaking. Witness Lee writes:

If the New Jerusalem were an actual city made of gold, pearls, and precious stones, this would mean that a material city was the conclusion of the entire divine revelation. This is not logical. God has been working throughout the ages, first creating the universe and man and then coming to earth to redeem man. The Lord Jesus, the God-man, lived on earth, He was crucified and resurrected, He ascended, and He poured Himself out as the Spirit upon His disciples. The disciples then went out to preach the gospel. As a result of the preaching of the gospel, throughout the centuries people have been saved and added to the church in order to be built up as the Body of Christ to express Him. To be sure, the final outcome of all this will not be a material city....

The New Jerusalem is the last and greatest sign in the Bible, and we all need the proper interpretation and understanding of this sign. As a sign the New Jerusalem indicates that God, through creation, incarnation, redemption, resurrection, ascension, and all His transforming and building work, will gain a living composition of His chosen, redeemed, regenerated, and transformed people to be His dwelling place and His counterpart to fully satisfy and express Him for eternity. (Witness Lee, The Conclusion of the New Testament, 2688-2689.)

Just because the New City is a physical city, this does not mean that a material city was the conclusion of the entire divine revelation. It is an important destination though of what God has disclosed to us so far, but there are many things God has yet to reveal to us that no person knows yet. It would be illogical to overassume otherwise, especially since Witness Lee gave no counter proof to Watchman Nee's 17 point proof of the New City being a physical material city.

Even if the New City was the final destination, which it can't be because God says there are things He has yet to reveal to us that no man knows, that does not disallow the New City being the final destination and whatever transformation it undergoes. Either way, Witness Lee is wrong and the Holy Spirit, in agreement with the Word, has revealed to me Watchman Nee got it right. Witness Lee's further overassuming is observed:

The New Jerusalem will be one with the redeeming Christ, as Eve became one with Adam. Eve was builded from a rib that was taken out of Adam’s side, and then she was brought back to him to be one flesh with him—to be one with him in nature and in life (Gen. 2:21-24; Eph. 5:25-27, 29-32). The principle is the same with the New Jerusalem as the wife of the redeeming Christ. She will be one with her Redeemer in nature and in life. Once again we see that the New Jerusalem cannot be a material city, for a physical city cannot be one with Christ in nature and in life. The New Jerusalem will not only have the divine element added to it and the holy nature of God wrought into it but will also be one with the redeeming Christ in nature and in life. (Witness Lee, The Conclusion of the New Testament, 2700-2701.)

Once again we see the New Jerusalem still remains a physical material city. Simply declaring otherwise is not a valid approach. Being with God and having His life and nature does not mean the New City can not be a physical city. It is perfect, righteous, holy, what Abraham longed for and the aim of all those who resurrected-saved. As the Saints are resurrected to heaven they also shall return to be pillars in the New City when from heaven the New Jerusalem comes down. Heaven and earth finally come together to the glory to God. Sadly, the majority of leeists shall not be with us since they are looking for something else.
