| Net proceeds from the sale of every bus, streetcar and trolleybus model sold from this website go towards the restoration, preservation and operation of two significant historic buses. | |
|
Bus 6000 is a rare 1971 GMC TDH3301 coach. Although it belongs to the ubiquitous "fishbowl" style of buses produced by General Motors from 1959 to 1986, the particular type was produced in limited numbers. In fact, #6000 is the 112th out of a total of 113 vehicles produced. |
| Originally delivered to the City of Nelson as their bus number 118, it was destined to be the last bus purchased by the City, and become #6000 when the remaining City buses were merged into the British Columbia provincial fleet in 1975. It served as spare bus in Nelson until 1989 when it was retired at Victoria BC. In 1993 it passed to the Victoria Historical Transit Society for preservation, and was acquired by the present owner in 2003. It currently operates as an auxiliary member of the Transit Museum Society fleet and is seen occasionally performing community service functions or providing enthusiasts' trips. | |
|
Victoria 697 is a 1947 Canadian Car-Brill C-36. |
| After retirement in 1968, the bus was moved to a logging camp at Sayward on northern Vancouver Island. Although cosmetically it was in reasonable condtion when recovered from the woods, there is a significant amount of work required below the floor before this bus will be roadworthy. Restoration is expected to take at least five years and $20,000 or more. | |
