Oct. 1/03 - Employment abounds! Plus, The Phantom Archive...
Greetings, eh? The only thing worse about not getting accepted into the U of A Masters of Education program is being told that it's because your GPA is too low. That either means more schooling to bring it up, writing the GMAT or some such test to prove I'm "teh smartee", or not doing the MEd for a few years and coming back when my GPA won't make that much of a difference (hoping, hoping, hoping).

So what does this mean in the meantime? Beej has found himself the most logical comclusion to his problems - a job in Grande Prairie, AB! ^)_(^ Since no one here will really care, let's move on to List business.

It has been far too long of a delay in updating the List. I believe I can get the rest of the Musical info sheets done by the end of October, but there will be no database for a while. I need to get used to a new city and a new job and a whole mess of new responsibilities.

Ooh-ick. Vermin's archive is down.

You guys pull a *lot* of traffic and he's not able to keep dodging the goons at his ISP who want to charge him big bucks. In the meantime, you cuold always check out some P2P services that I hear the kids like, or you could buy some CDs. On that note, the Shoppe still runs, but there is little to no interest. I may add some news there soon that may be exciting for those of you who find CDs a little too expensive.

Now, as I have recently appointed Vermin the newest Co-Curator of Archives for the List. you must contact him if you wish to host an archive, or if you have problems. And be sure you know how to do it. I'm no good at hand-holding, and I think Vermin is even less inclicned. If you know what you do, then take off every zig and join us - the few, the proud, the OGG-hosting freakos of the List. Requirements are 3-4 GB of space handy, plus a static connection on at least a cable modem/xDSL.

The near-meaningless Huge Updates list still stands! If I sing a song, will you sing along?

add new archivist #1's info sheets (this is continuous - Vermin will keep us up to date)
learn CSS/PHP/MySQL, and create database for the List
add new info sheets for the Memorial 10 and Dark Side Edition CDs (SOON)
data entry for everything in the List
update Lyric Moon links (http://www.lyricmoon.org)
replace bootleg CD cover images with legit ones (yep, James 0wnZ them all...)
re-design List
convince webhost to add PHP/MySQL to the server (Doubt that'll happen...)

MozillaWatch: I'm using Mozilla Composer (Linux 1.5) and if you're not using it, please give it a try (available for All Platforms, including Windows). Mozilla has been adding some great features for browsers. For instance, I am no longer inundated with pop-up windows - Mozilla can block them. I can browse using tabs, and I can do a whole bunch of other stuff that feels really, really cool.

I do not control the archives! I cannot get them set up any faster! Please be patient! And please stop asking for MP3s or OGGs! I will not e-mail them to you!
