THOMPSON
VALLEY POTTERS' GUILD
was created in October 1969 with only seven
members. For many years the group met in each other's homes, sharing
techniques, talking about how to improve the standards of ceramics, and
working to raise awareness of ceramics in the Kamloops area.
Now, 39 years later, there are 40 members who meet monthly to talk about
many aspects of pottery. Members use a variety of clay - stoneware,
porcelain, and earthenware to produce functional and one-of-a-kind pieces.
We also use many different firing techniques - electric, gas, raku, salt,
woodfire, and crystalline.
