  14. Kirilow (Russia) 4 sets of quads, 7 sets of triplets, 2 sets of twins with 1st wife (57 children), 6 sets of twins, 1 set of triplets with 2nd wife (15 kids) before 1853. All survived. Iakov Kirilow was from Vvedensko, Russia, and is not the same person as Feodor Vassiliev.

  20. Vassiliev (Russia) 4 sets quads, 7 sets triplets, 16 sets twins from 1725-1765 with 1st wife. Only 2 died. 6 sets of twins and 2 sets of triplets with 2nd wife. 83 of 87 were living at the time they were presented to the government. There is substantial proof verifying this family. The father was 75 in 1782 when it was reported in the Saint Petersburg Panorama. I also saw reference to the Scheinberg (Germany) 4 sets of quadruplets, 7 sets of triplets, 16 sets of twins with his first wife, two sets of triplets with second wife. 87 children total. This was reported in an Idaho newspaper in 1925. I am unsure if they are the same family, but suspect they are. Feodor Vassiliev was from Shuya, Russia.

The families with the most multiples would be the Vassiliev's of Russia with 27 sets of multiple births, followed by Mr. Kirilow with 20 (13 from first marriage, 7 from second), Dr. Mary Austin with 19 sets (1890's), Maddalena Granata with 15 sets, Mary Jonas with 15 sets, an unidentified Ohio family with 14 sets, a woman in Italy with 11 sets, and the Gotofsky's, the Womack's and Maria Goncalves Moreira (and her mother) with 10 sets.

  5. 2 sets - Houillon (unknown) 1st set Nicole, Abigail, Laura (1986) 2nd set Jillian, Hannah and Erin.

20/20 reported that by 1997 there were only 5 families in the USA that had had 2 sets of triplets.
