Not only a great sailor but a gifted writer. If you plan on sailing around the world you can apply to join the Joshua Slocum Society! You can also read this book free online.
Fishing with John	Edith Iglauer	True-life story of a cosmopolitan New York writer who married and worked with a BC salmon fisherman, John Daly. In 2006 Edith Iglauer was awarded an honorary doctorate from U. Vic.
Oar and Sail	Kenneth Leighton	When he was 66 yrs old the author travelled from Vancouver to Pr. George in a custom-built open row boat Witty, personal, beautiful use of the language.
Salt on the Wind - The Sailing Life of Allen and Sharie Farrell	Dan Rubin	Legendary B.C. boat builder Allen Farrell built more than 40 wooden boats that he and his wife Sharie sailed along the B.C. coast and across the Pacific. China Cloud Bay on Lasqueti Isl. is named after one of their last live aboard boats.
