Hi There,

My name is Brent Borthwick, and with my wife Sharon Borthwick we are members of the Valley Squadron. We left Abbotsford, selling our house and cars, July of  2006 and flew to St. Johns Newfoundland where we boarded the boat we had just purchased. My wife and I, and our 3 young children Samantha 13, Justin 11, and Jessica 9, have taken “Jireh” from Newfoundland, St Pier, Nova Scotia, Boston, New York, the whole East coast of the US to Florida, then Bahamas, Mexico East coast, Belize, now in Rio Dulce Guatemala, preparing to leave for Panama in April, and then up to the West coast of Mexico to La Paz. We have lived aboard since July 2006.

Eventually we hope to be back in BC, but for now we are still south of you guys.

We use Jireh as our house and floating base, but also we do many things in the local communities working with local churches, orphanages, and medical and dental teams in the islands and coastal areas. We are not just cruising, we are working, and believe me, it is a lot of work!!!

Any ways, just renewed our membership on-line, and checked out Valley’s web page and saw pictures of other boats. Thought maybe if you want, you could put Jireh on. The picture was taken at anchor in Great Sail Cay, Bahamas, while waiting out weather.
