Anger Management
I believe that teaching techniques for modifying behavior is only one part of a more comprehensive strategy for dealing with anger. Anger (when inappropriate) is a complex emotion that can not be treated by simply containing or redirecting the person's feelings and actions.
Although violence or abusive behavior can not be condoned, I feel that anger can sometimes be a healthy and legitimate response to provocation and injustice. A person is more than just his or her anger. Additionally, anger occurs within a context. In my practice, I have found it important to know what that context is and why the individual is angry.
Issues related to anger management can be addressed in a session-by-session basis. Alternately, clients can enroll in a twelve week comprehesive program that I have designed to meet the needs of individual clients.
