Introduction

I have provided counselling and therapy for twenty years in the Vancouver area. I began my private practice in 1994 and I am a registered member of the B.C. Association of Clinical Counsellors. My clients come from diverse occupational, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds. I work with individuals, couples, and groups.

My primary area of expertise is in relationship counselling. I have provided counselling to both traditional and same-sex couples. Other areas of specialization include anger management, trauma and abuse, bereavement, substance abuse (addiction), depression, and employee assistance. Additionally, I am a consultant to government agencies and corporate clients providing assistance in area such as productivity, organizational change, diversity, conflict resolution and critical incident stress debriefing (CISD). I also provide counselling and psychological assessments for refugee claimants.

I combine elements of cognitive and existential therapies, as well as clinical hypnosis into my work. However, I do not adhere to a rigid set of beliefs that come from one particular school of psychology. What is appropriate for one client, may not be appropriate for another. I believe in treating the individual with respect and dignity and I provide treatment in a private and confidential setting.

The length of time in therapy will vary with the needs of the individual or couple. I am prepared to support all my clients for as long as they feel that such support is useful.
