  March 22, 1970: CFMI FM 101.1 signs on the air with an automated rock/country hybrid, "Canadiana" vignettes and international music on Sundays.  From 1974-81 CFMI would play more vocals and progress to an adult contemporary then to a classic rock format. CFMI history.
