July 11: The final 2 1/2 hour movie of M*A*S*H on CBC & CBS (2,7).
July 18: A 40th anniversary salute to man's first landing on the moon.  Apollo XI live coverage was on every major network from July 20 9 am-July 21 3 pm PT.
July 25: The TV launch of "The Sound of Music" on Sun. Feb. 29 at 4:30 pm (8) & 7 pm (4).
Aug. 4: The first annual presentation of "The Wizard of Oz" on Sun. Dec. 13, 1956 on CBS (7) at 6 pm.

2. CFUV FM 101.9 U-Vic Radio: May 23-30 Officially signed-on Dec. 17, 1984 after some experimental programming from 1965-70 and from 1981-84.
3. CHLY FM 101.7 Malaspina University College:  May 30-June 6  Signed on: Sept. 21, 2001.
4. CJSF FM 90.1 SFU Radio:   June 6-20   First closed-circuit broadcasts were made in 1969.
5. CFRO FM 102.7 Vancouver:   June 20-July 5 April 15, 1975.
6. KUOW FM 94.9  Seattle:  July 5-30     Signed on:     1952
7. KING FM 98.1 Seattle:  July 30 11 pm-Aug. 29 3 pm   Signed on:   1948

9. CBC Classical: one of four new audio streams from CBC Radio 2. It is for those whose hears love to hear classical music.  Sept. 6 1 pm-Sept. 13 1 pm.
10. CBC Canadian Composers: the second of four new audio streams from CBC Radio 2.  Sept. 13-20.
11. CBC Jazz: the third of four new audio streams from CBC Radio 2.  Sept. 20-27.
**There were some technical issues with the 3 above programs that cut out after about 20 minutes.

40. KKND FM 107.7 Seattle: held many different formats over the years.  At present time it plays a "classic alternative" format.
41. BBC WORLD SERVICE filling in the summer gap until Sept. 18.  Various BBC programs and their hourly newscasts have been heard in this market for over 65 years.


**If a radio station featured on SOUNDATHON 08/09 was on the air before April 2, 1982 then it will be on the air for more than one week according to its length of service.
**Before 1982 and in the first few years, most campus/community radio stations, were on the air only part-time from 4-16 hours a day.
