The Monarch's Ball is coming March 7, 2009 all details will be posted on our website, many thanks to Grant for that work.  If you don't have internet access please contact either Grant Thompson or Gordon Phillips via telephone for the information.  I would also like to mention the great effort that Past Grand Monarch Robert Black has put forward, his outstanding negotiations for getting us the hospitality room which I hope we can turn to a big fundraising event.  Let's get some great prizes for raffle donations would be appreciated!  Please get a lots of rest for March the 7</B><B>th</B><B> because you going to party hard and give to charity at the same time.  This year we will change the way we do things and the way we conduct our meetings to be in accordance with our by-laws. We are going to have a 2 piece band that will make our party go so well and maybe even a DJ in our hospitality room to play all your favourite tunes.  Many thanks to the Prophets that showed up in our last meeting, including PGM Black, Prophet Phillips, PM Thompson, Prophet James, Prophet Cassidy, Prophet Keith, Prophet Rangarajan, Prophet Dunn, PM Barry, PM Stunden, and PM Taychuck.  I hope I am not missing anyone, if I am, I am sorry.  What an effort and good fellowship you showed to help out in putting the ball together.  I hope all Grotto members will come out that night and have fun.  Of course, invite your non-Grotto friends, maybe we will round up some new members!   I would like to have some feedback for what you would like to see and do about events we can put on throughout the year.  My ideas so far include a Barbeque, Poker Night, Bingo Night, and Pub Night, as well as a good old fashioned Christmas Party.  We should start planning now for some of these events.  If you have any other ideas, please let me know, and if anybody is having a difficult time, down and out in this sad economy of ours, please call me.  I will do my best to help out any way I can.  By the way at the ball the will be surprises that are not in the program so get ready for some fun.  I hope that you will win the TV it's a nice one.  I would like to see the Prophets that don't show up to our meetings make the effort to at least come to the Ball.  I will not mention your names, you know who you are but please come out this year we need you and your good company.</B></div> <bR> <div> <B>                                       Yours good in good fellowship,</B></div> <div> <B>                                       Sam Elkabanny, Monarch</B></div> <div> <B><U>CHIEF JUSTICE REPORT</U></B></div> <bR> <div> <B>Dear Prophets we finally got out to Cloverdale to the racetrack and the only date we could get was April 12</B><B>th</B><B>.  We booked it although we know it is Easter Sunday and hope that as many as possible will come out to feed the nags as they are getting skinny like me.  Jackie James and Grant Thompson will be helping me to sell the tickets.  Don't forget the Monarchs Ball in March.</B></div> <bR> <div> <B>COMING EVENTS:</B></div> <div> <B>Feb 10         7:30 - PM next meeting - Board meeting prior to meeting</B></div> <div> <B>Mar 7            Monarch & Officer's Ball - tickets on sale. And it was a well used copier that started its life with Wolf Chev Olds in 1980s, then it moved on to the Costal Pilots Association where Harry Allen “liberated” it from there for Van Zor and it is still going strong. I might add that most of the 100,000 copies were folded, put in envelopes, sealed and posted to you.</B></div> <div> <B>Saturday, March 7</B><B>th</B><B> 2009 - this is the date of VAN ZOR'S Monarch & Officer's ball at the ABERCORN INN in CityplaceRichmond StateBC, (same place as the NWGA Convention last year) It is the event of the year and is the occasion that we welcome our friends from the South. There is an information and contact sheet for purchasing your tickets and booking your hotel rooms included in this mail out. This year we will have a live band and the Monarch has donated a 37” View Sonic wide screen LCD HD TV door prize. Your Ball committee has worked very hard to make this a memorable event. A great effort has been made to keep the $40 ticket prices the same as last year.
