DECEMBER 2007
MONARCH'S REPORT:
Greetings Prophets,
First, to all of you and your families, I wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Very Happy New Year! I hope that 2008 will be an especially good year to all of you. We will be having our annual Boxing Day Open House from 2:00-?. If you are in the area, drop in, we would welcome you.
To our new slate of Officers, who will be installed soon, I wish you a happy, successful year in Grotto. We may be small but we can grow and besides, we all know that size doesn't necessarily dictate the degree of success. We were fortunate to have new members this year and I am sure that there will be more in the coming year.
I won't go into the special dates that are coming. You know what they are and they will be covered in this newsletter.
Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to serve as your Monarch in the past year. A very special thank you to those who were patient with me and guided me. Being new to the Masonic family, there is much to learn, it never stops. Challenges don't have to stop just because we have grey hair and some wrinkles.
Thank you everyone!
Yours in good fellowship
Harry Keith, Monarch (for a few more days)
CHIEF JUSTICE REPORT:
Greetings Prophets,
As our last meeting of the year is quickly coming upon us I trust that we will be able to have a good turnout to join together in Good Fellowship. As you are also aware it will be our Annual Installation of Officers and as our Prophet Monarch Harry Keith is about to hand over the reigns I hope that most of us will be available to show our thanks and admiration for all that he has done or us through our support by being there.
2008 will be a busy year for us I trust. We have our 50th Anniversary as a Grotto as well as being the host for the 2008 North Western Conference. Both of these events will be happening in July and should be a Blue Ribbon Day for us. Another important date coming soon for us is the Monarch's Ball. It will be held on the 1st of March and we plan to make the Grand Master a prophet on site. Please try to be there for that and don't forget to ask your friends if they would like to attend. They are most welcome to join us.
On behalf of myself and my wife Eileen I would like to wish you a Very Merry Christmas and a Healthy Happy New Year.

From your editor:
Hi everyone, Marg & I just got back from Cuba. We had a great time in Havana with all the old cars and the wonderful history and very friendly people, they sure go out of their way for us Canadians. Masonic Lodges and Masons are very active in Cuba. Loved it and would go back in a heartbeat.
Thank you to all those who attended and took part in the event and a special thanks to Prophet Sam Elkabanny for carrying the flag and taking up one of the 4 corners at the Cenotaph and thank you for including both the Jobies and DeMolay with you in the parade. You looked great Sam. Also a special thanks to those who joined me at 23 & Main afterwards to celebrate my 71st. (time sure flies when you hang around with floozies)
Another very honourable mention goes out to PM Donnie Robertson for doing his annual Santa thing at the Airport. Lucas even had his picture taken with Santa, thanks Don.
The Jingle Bell Lunch is on at the usual place (Country Meadows on # 6 Road 11.30 AM Dec 16th) Please, please call me and let me know if you are going and how many you are bringing with you so I can advise them how many to expect. To the new members this is great event. Bring your family or other Masonic friends. The cost is about $19.95 plus tips per person. IT'S FAMILY TIME and we would like to meet yours. The location is 8482 # 6 Road, Richmond, Call me or Marg at 604-241-7977 by Dec 13th so we can do a head count for them.
The next meeting is an important one, it is our election and Installation for the year 2008 and the Ladies usually do a little something special after the meeting.
Included in this mail-out, is the NWGA newsletter, a proposed term plan by the CJ for the 2008 term and Betty Black's annual Van Zor Christmas Card to everyone.
A special Merry Christmas and Happy New year to all you Grotto people, we love you all, Marg & I, all the best.
