JUNE 2009
MONARCH'S REPORT
Greetings Prophets:
Summer is approaching and I wish everybody a great time. Our next meeting is extremely important and your attendance is important we will be discussing Van Zor Grottoes future. The way it is going right now, it doesn't look good at all. All officers must attend and if you can't make the meeting please notify Prophet Secretary or myself. I hope with the nicer weather more Prophets will try to make it out for the evening as well. I don't have much to say right now but this is going to depend on how much you care about our Grotto, so if you can, please come out and support us at the June meeting. I know everyone is very busy but you are all members, which is more than just paying your dues. Your attendance at meetings is very much wanted. I know some of you have health reasons, or can't drive. Please, if you can, try to arrange for someone else to take you to the meeting and drive you home as well, but I do understand. I know some of you are very busy working as well but when you don't show up for a year or more that is not ok. Please make a note the future of the Grotto is in jeopardy and we need the support of our members to keep it going. We want to make plans for future meetings and events and we can't do anything if we don't have the support of all our members, plus it is very hard to get new members to join when we can't find enough members to attend the meetings. If there is anything you don't like about Van Zor Grotto, please don't hesitate to let me know and we can talk about how to make it better!
Our Chief Justice, Prophet Joe Cassidy was in a car accident recently, he is expected to make a full recovery but I hope everyone will take the time to give him a call and send him your best wishes for a speedy recovery. Hopefully Joe will be up and dancing in no time!
The Board meeting will be held on June 9, 2009 at 6:30pm prior to the regular Grotto meeting. Yours good in good fellowship,
Sam Elkabanny, Monarch
CHIEF JUSTICE REPORT
Greetings Prophets,
Sorry but I may not be at our next meeting as some of you already know we were in a car accident on May 20th and my car was totaled. At the moment we have no wheels and I am trying to recover before we get another car.
I have some dates for the race track for 2010 which will be decided at the executive meeting which will be one h our before our regular meeting on June 9th. We can have the race track either February 7, 21, or 28 or March 7, 21 or 28th depending on when we decide to have the Monarchs Ball which also has to be discussed at the executive meeting. We have to let the racetrack know which date we decide on as soon as possible.

From your editor:
Hey ain't this weather the greatest, so far a good start to a long hot summer. There isn't too much to report on, I have included the NWGA newsletter and the forms for the Convention and hotel information, for any other info just give me a call.
Unfortunately Joe & Pat Cassidy were involved in a bad accident which totaled their car, Fortunately Joe's injuries were not very serious and Pat was uninjured although both were taken to hospital for a check up. Apparently an on-coming flat deck crossed the center-line and wiped them out along with the car behind them, any way thanks to the guy up there for looking out for them.
Several of us are preparing for Grand Lodge in Prince George and then looking forward to Summer Darkness and a few months of no meetings.
I am sorry to report that I will not stand for this office for the next year, I am in my eleventh year and I need a break. I have been in office ever since I joined Van Zor and I am looking forward to sitting on the sidelines and contributing where I can. I will be happy to maintain the web site if that is the wishes of the members. As it is it must run from my computer because it runs on my server free of charge as part of my package. If it is moved it would require a new URL address which would be very counter-productive as it is now recognized by and linked to so many other Grottoes and Masonic organizations. I have been to the “well” to often and I am running out of good ideas and things to say and I need a rest and we also need new and young people taking over these positions.
As most of you know, My Old Bride and I will be celebrating 50th years of wedded blitz on the 20th of this month. We will be in Prince George at Grand Lodge on that date but will be having an open house Beer & Whine type of thing later on. Our son Marvin and daughter Wendy will be organizing it at the Cammidge Heritage House located at Centennial Park near Boundary Bay on July the 20th, 2PM to 8PM. NO PRESENTS PLEASE Invitations will be going out soon but if we missed anyone Give our daughter Wendy a call at our home phone for information.
HAVE A GREAT AND SAFE SUMMER, we love you all. Marg & Grant
