Burnaby Amateur Radio Club Annual RDF "Foxhunt"

About 30 people attended the Burnaby Amateur Radio Club Fox Hunt. Fourteen teams or individuals participated including local teams as well as teams from Oregon, Washington and Victoria.
Organization was up to the challenge: Keith VE7MID (fox-hunt) and Lou VE7CGE (BBQ). Course was around 8km in the total distance.

Results: Elite division;
1st place - Les Tocko VA7OM won in 1:11 with 4 foxes, 2nd place - Amel Krdzalic VA7KBA in 1:16 with 4 foxes, 3rd place - Dale Hunt WB6BYU in 1:23 with 4 foxes.

In the Novice Division;
1st place - Joe Young VE7BFK won in 1:30 with 3 foxes, 2nd place - Kuon Hunt KB7WRG in 1:15 with 2 foxes, 3rd place - Al Ferguson in 1:30 with 2 foxes.

The event and BBQ were well received by all. Keith VE7MID also demonstrated the Doppler RDF unit, while fellow Victorians demonstrated 80m band gear with 2 foxes hidden in the area.
We had a great sunny day and we all enjoyed it very much.

As this is becoming and nice tradition I invite everybody to come and participate in next year's (mid July 2011) fox-hunt.
