Welcome to Victoria Aikikai!
Victoria Aikikai is a registered non-profit Society, dedicated to offering high quality Aikido training to adults, teens and children. Since 1975, the organization has grown from a few dedicated people, into our current society made up of several affiliated dojos on southern Vancouver Island. These include the main dojo, Victoria Aikido Centre, as well as San Shu Kan Aikikai, Shawnigan Lake Aikikai and the University of Victoria Aikikai. Our instructors and students are committed to continuous improvement and we encourage new members to come and experience the numerous benefits of this "Way of Harmony".
The training offered at Victoria Aikikai is the traditional "Aikikai" style of Aikido as created by the Founder, Morihei Ueshiba (O'Sensei). Victoria Aikikai is a member of the British Columbia Aikido Federation and the Canadian Aikido Federation; and is affiliated with the Aikikai Foundation, Aikido World Headquarters (Hombu Dojo) in Tokyo, Japan.
Victoria Aikido Centre provides training sessions 6 days a week (as well as a number of weekend seminars throughout the year in partnership with affiliated dojos). The sessions are grouped into three different programs: regular classes for full members, junior classes for children 8-14 years of age, and beginner adult/teen classes.
