Coffee
Break/Second Cup
Something new is brewing at Coffee Break… we welcome you back
this year to A Second Cup! A Second Cup is a group
for women of all ages and stages of life. We want to reach out to all
the women of both of Victoria's Christian Reformed churches and get
to know you! We're also looking forward to meeting new women who are
not familiar with 'going to church'. Come and join us each Wednesday
morning and see for yourself the fresh new face of A Second Cup. Coffee
is ready at 9:00 each Wednesday morning and the meeting goes from 9:30-11:00
am. We, your barista's, are so excited about what's perking for this
year. So come, grab a friend, your sense of humour, and get a refill
to get you through the week.
For those
of you with little cappuccinos, there is child care provided: Nursery
(0-2 yr olds), Little Lambs (3 yr olds), and Story Hour (4-5 yr olds).
We give thanks to God for the many volunteers who provide loving care
in the children’s programs each week.
We invite all women – of all ages to join us for inspirational
singing, devotion and sharing time as well as stimulating Bible study.
It’s never too late to join in. Occasionally, we enjoy a craft
morning.

Ladies
Time Out
Ladies who meet together to study God's word and find ways to apply
it to their lives. The Lord willing, we hope to meet on the last Tuesday
of every month from 2-4pm in the church library. |

Men's
Life
The men of Men’s Life meet for fellowship and to study God’s
Word. Unlike many bible study groups, which study books of the Bible
we study a subject. In the past, we have studied Stewardship and Grace
along with other subjects. Using the supplied study material we read
and discuss what God wrote. This method produces excellent and insightful
dialogue.
The group
chooses a study guide because we want to know what God says about that
subject.
We encourage
new members, teenagers and older, and meet every second Saturday from
7:30 to 9 am in the Victoria Christian Reformed Church library. We begin
each meeting with a time of fellowship and a light breakfast before
beginning the lesson portion. Our first meeting begins Saturday, October
14, 2006. We should be completed by the end of April. Each lesson is
a stand-alone subject and there is no harm in missing some Saturdays.
Because
we are very much interested in building a relationship with both God
and each other, Men’s Life also hosts a Golf Tournament in May
and monthly summer walks for all the men of our church family.

Youth
of Yesterday
We call ourselves the Youth of Yesterday - seniors that come together
every second Tuesday of the month from September to May, we come together.
Our meetings start at 10:00 am in the church fellowship room.
The first part of the meeting consists of a Bible Study led by Pastor
John. We always enjoy him leading us. After the Bible Study we have
our coffee “klets”, which is then followed by watching a
video, slide show or contributions by some of our members. We were very
blessed at Christmas to have the Pacific Christian School children's
choir sing for us.
At noon we are served a delicious lunch of soup and buns which has been
lovingly prepared by two members of the church. They do a great job
and we are very grateful for their ministry to us.
We are still growing but we will always welcome new members. It is good
to come together, to study God's word, learn about His love for His
people, and to have fellowship with one another. |

Small
Groups - Community Life
Our hope and prayer as a committee is to lead and guide members of the
congregation to become enfolded into a community where they feel connected
and supported. We believe that church members will find themselves supported,
encouraged, and challenged when they are connected to a small group
of individuals. This connection can occur a number of different ways
such as the many programs and committees that are offered as well as
more formal Care Groups. We are attempting to promote the intention
of care/prayer/share to all programs and committees that they all become
places of encouragement and support.
Care Groups is one of the primary ways for connection to occur. Care
groups are small groups of people who meet regularly for prayer, study,
fellowship and caring within the context of a home. We have collected
a comprehensive list of all ongoing Care Groups and we are attempting
to link individuals who are not connected in any way to one of our Care
Groups. This has been a significant portion of our time; contacting
others who desire this type of connection. Additionally, we are providing
support and encouragement to these Groups.
One of intentions is to become a resource for the Care Groups by collecting
books, tapes, and a variety of other study aids for the groups. However,
given that Care Groups are not just about study but rather connection,
we are and will be providing support in a number of different ways for
these groups.
We will soon be closely working with Council to draw on their abilities
and resources. Council, being made up of visiting elders, will help
us connect to individuals who are in need of Care Groups.
We ask for your prayers and support that our congregation may continue
to find itself as a closely connected body of people. |
