NEW PURCHASES!!

We have had the good fortune to recently purchase an excellent array of new gear and the list goes as follows:

Brand new Sony TRV - 900 3 chip camera (now we have two of these, so renting a camera ought to be a lot easier)

Sony DSR 40 DV CAM deck (we now have two DV CAM decks which ought to make transferring easier)

Four brand new professional quality VHS decks, to make transferring more affordable and yield better quality transfers.

The Final Cut Pro Suite re-build includes: Brand new Macintosh G 4 super computer with a 533 Mhz processor, 256 mgs RAM, over 60 gigs hard drive space, Final Cut Pro 2.0, and an RTMac Matrox RealTime Card, to enable the rendering all those jazzy effects on the fly. We were also able to purchase some very special new Monsoon flat panel audio system to accompany the rest of the goodies in this totally re-vamped multi-media suite.

Brand New portable Tascam DAT recorder, and a fancy new Sennheiser ME66 mic kit to accompany it.

The mini DV clamshell deck that was once in the Final Cut Pro Suite is now available to rent out for home use at very reasonable rates. Call our knowledgeable staff to inquire

Introducing the Third Video In Avid Xpress Suite (capable of AVR 75)

We now have a third Avid Xpress Suite that is component quality and offers all the same capabilities as the other two Avids, but the overall resolution is slightly lower. We are offering this suite at a reduced rate as a result. It is good for off-lining and is perfectly compatible with our other Avids, and media can be easily moved to an AVR 77 capable Avid when it comes time to complete your project. Inquire with our knowledgeable staff for further details about the potential uses of this Avid system.

Hellos and Goodbyes

Video In is sad to see Cooper Battersby and Emily Vey Duke leave their positions at Video In/ Video Out. Emily had been working as a distribution assistant in Video Out, and Cooper was the Lead Technician and full time member of the Video In Management Collective. We are sad to see them go, but they are heading off to Chicago so Emily can pursue her Masters Degree at the University of Illinois. Good Luck to you both!

That said, we are VERY pleased to welcome Rafael Tsuchida aboard, who is joining us as a full-time member of the Video In Management Collective, and taking over for Cooper as the Lead Technician.

Gay Hawley has left her position as Education Co-ordinator at Video In, and is now the project co-ordinator for the DEAF@VI deaf education program. Krista Tupper is now the Equipment and Education Co-ordinator, and Tricia Middleton is now Co-ordinating all the regular Video In Workshops.
