More EdMo (and a bit of harmless flirting)
I can see that my blog is going to be pretty narrow in focus (i.e. boring) as long as I'm doing EdMo. Because all I did this weekend was edit. Apart from Saturday night, that is, when I went out for supper with some of the grrls and we teased our cute, young waiter mercilessly. Poor boy. Though he couldn't have minded that much because he brought us some complimentary Tiramisu at the end of our meal. Afterwards, a viewing of Hudson Hawk, which has been on my mind ever since the Frank Sinatra tribute (the "Swinging on a Star" scene jumped into my head and wouldn't leave).
As for EdMo... *sigh*... I don't think 50 hours is going to be enough to shape this thing into a book. I've got to start concentrating on filling in the gaps and making the reorganization flow -- rather than rewriting what I've already written -- or I'll never get it finished. I guess the rewrites will have to wait for the next draft. Not that they're doing any good anyway... was looking for an excerpt to post in my EdMo profile and decided it was all crap... *heavy sigh*. Picked up the Fiction Writer's Handbook at the used bookstore this weekend. (Not recommending it so far.) Was actually looking for Self-Editing for Fiction Writers but they didn't have a copy. Might have to bite the bullet and actually buy it new. But I'll take any help I can get at the moment. Speaking of help, discovered this great website for writers, thanks to the EdMo forum: Holly Lisle's Forward Motion for Writers.
EdMo Hours: 10 down ~ 40 to go
