Poseidon
Went to see Poseidon at the IMAX. The special effects were fantastic, which one would expect with that budget in this day and age, but I must confess that I prefer the original The Poseidon Adventure. With all it's dated cheesiness, the original is just a better story with more relatable characters. Or maybe it's just nostalgic for me. No, I won't wimp out on my opinion. The remake relies too much on the effects, as so many action movies do nowadays. And I'm going to shut up now before I start saying things like "back in my day..."
P.S. I was excited to see my old friend Gordon Thomson seated at the table with the Richard Dreyfuss character, but unfortunately his character must have died when the ship first capsized because we never saw him again after that.
