Insert Crash Sound Here
Well, my computer died. Kaput. Everything. Lost.
So all the cash I'd stashed away for my "Film Fund" (extra cash for the short film that I'll be working on through my CSIF course this summer) is now invested in my computer. And now I have this lovely new big empty hard drive that was loaded up with software by my friend Russ (aka computer god) but my files? Poof. All gone. (Well, Russ did manage to salvage a handful of files, but they were mostly various versions of my sister's resume... hardly seems fair.)
And now I'm discovering that my poor little memory (my computer memory, not my actual memory... though that doesn't seem to be doing too well these days either)... anyway, my computer memory is insufficient for all these wonderful, powerful new applications. E-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g i-s s-o-o-o s-l-o-w. It feels like I'm pushing through a wall of mud whenever I try to do anything. Guess I have to dig deeper than my Film Fund and find a way to upgrade that.
Thank goodness for the stuff I've posted here and the notes and random hard copies of other stuff I'd written. But it hardly seems like enough.
Live. Learn. Then get a DVD drive to back up your life.
