Tattoo Meme
Well, this has to be the easiest meme I've been tagged for yet... Thanks Marisa! My mission, should I choose to accept it (and I have) is to take a photo of one of my tattoos and post it on my blog. So here's my lotus flower kanji tattoo on my lower right abdomen (only visible when I wear my lowrise jeans):


To me it symbolizes the power to thrive in times of adversity, just as the lotus flower thrives in the mud. I have three tattoos so far, I don't regret a single one and I plan on getting more in the future.

As for who to tag, I don't remember who has tattoos and who doesn't, and I have to admit that I'm too tired to try to remember or find out. So if I tag you and you don't have any tattoos, no worries. But if you do have tattoos, then I showed you mine so you can show me yours.

That is very similar to a temp tat I got a few years back on my arm. If I were to get a tat, it would definitely be a Japanese symbol.

Hey Cara,

I've done many a thing in my lifetime, but a tattoo isn't one of them :-)

So that leaves of off the hook. Whew! My husband has s couple from his martial arts, but that doesn't count. He'd never let me take a pic anyway, kee. And no it's nothing private, get your mind outta the gutter :-)

Lattegirl, very cool to hear that you had a similar temp tat. If you every get a real tat, I wanna see a pic!

Deborah, how is it that you already know me well enough to know where my mind ended up? LOL

Donna, after you've gone to Smiling Buddha, I hope to see a pic of what will then be a beautiful angel on your shoulder. :-)

lotus flower? to my understanding, that symbol means Daoism / Taoism. .was just wondering if u wurr aware of that. .that's all = )

Actually, although the symbol for Daoism is similar to the symbol for lotus flower, it is not the same and it is not the symbol in my tattoo. Here's a link to see the actual symbol for Daoism for comparison: http://tranquilhealing.net/taoism.htm. If you compare them, you can see that one element of the symbols are identical, which might be the source of your confusion, but otherwise they are different symbols.
