Ignatieff: The Gutless Wonder
I thought of this post title as I read about the death of the Coalition, this country's last hope for political salvation that I could see. And the title reminded me of the quote from Strictly Ballroom: "Vivir con miedo es como vivir en medias" ... "A life lived in fear, is a life half-lived."
I don't care if being a New Democrat in Calgary is completely ineffective, my political heart beats on the left (as does my real one, if we're going to get anatomically picky) and ultimately I need to be a member of a party that I can respect. And Bob Rae, the former New Democrat, happens to be the only Liberal that I'm left respecting at this point. So sayonara Liberal party, you just lost one of your few Alberta supporters. Mr. Layton, I'm coming home.
