SOCKS - SOCKS - SOCKS. For the past 8 years we have committed to providing 3,000 pairs of socks per year to 1st Church Mission for use in the foot care program for the homeless. We have handy coin cups available for you to collect small change. When your cup is overflowing you can share it. Bring the cup into the office and we will use it to buy socks for the homeless in the downtown eastside. Starting the 1st week in November we will be collecting socks in the SOCKBOX outside the church office, giving out coin cups and selling socktificates for Christmas stocking stuffers and gifts. Prayer Circle: the Pastoral Care Committee plans to form an intentional prayer circle. This would include people who have or who would like to develop, an individual daily prayer practice. Its purpose would be to respond to particular prayer requests over a period of time so that people in need might have the comfort of knowing that others were prayerfully walking with them during a stressful time. If you would be interested in learning more about this group, please contact Jan Tennant at coffee time, or please call the office. There will be an informal gathering to plan and discuss this very important new ministry. In the meantime, if you have prayer requests, forms may be found on the table at the entrance to the church and in the pews. Once filled out, they may be deposited in the specially marked boxes at the church entrance, or in the gym during coffee time.
