In 1999 the Mainland Modular Railway Society non-profit society was formed in the lower mainland of British Columbia. The purpose of the society is to build an HO scale modular railway to display and operate.
Our Constitution and Bylaws were approved by the Registrar of Companies on: May 25, 1999.
Our evolving Standards are derived from the NMRA HO Scale modular standards and the Victoria to Sydney standards with changes to improve appearance and accommodate the NMRA DCC control system..
There is a $50.00 initiation fee for full membership. You can be an full member or family member. Dues for full membership are $ 25.00 per year. Family membership is $ 10.00 per family member.
As a non-profit society with limited sources of income we are open to donations of money or equipment to help the society. Please contact one of the club executive for further information.
As it is intended to operate the layout rather than just run display trains, NMRA
DCC will be the control system. Digitrax is the brand
of DCC equipment we have chosen to use.
Full formal operating session have not been implemented yet, but we are working towards
implementing a car card system for freight car movement.
The club is run informally with just enough structure to satisfy our non-profit status. During the school year we meet on the third Friday of the month. This is our schedule of meetings and clinics for the next year.
The MMRS has been at and will be at the following Model Train Shows. We are open to displaying at other locations and venues. Please feel free to contact us if you would like us to display at your venue.
We encourage you to come to a few of our meetings or displays so we can get to know you. If you are interested in Joining fill out an application form and have it signed by one of the current MMRS members as a sponsor. After three months the MMRS Executive will determine if you are accepted as a member. Generally if we know you, joining is no problem. If we don't know you we would like to get to know first.
