Since Harald first began his woodworking adventure, it has been a lot of fun, and if we can say, almost too busy. Harald’s BugWood bowls have become a huge success. Now Harald has been invited to have his Bug bowls displayed for sale at the BC Government’s gift shop under Gifts of Distinction. Hunderds of Bug bowls have gone all over the province.

Harald has also decided to try other wood projects, using spalted woods are different and a pleasant break from Bug wood. He has branched out to making wood trays, walking sticks, coasters and much more. His lamp stands have also been a hit.

As long as there is dried dead wood out there to be turned, Harald will be a busy man. One guest went so far as to call Harald an Artist, and we thought that was quite a compliment.
The birch burls are harder to find, but this endless search for rotten wood knots means there are lots of days of walking through forests. And both Harald and Audrea enjoy going out scouting the nearby forests for burls or a good willow piece.

A Christmas craft sale was a turning point for Harald. He sold well over $300 of bowls and was able to show off the pieces he is most proud of. Most have sold. So when you see, hold or buy his works, rest assured that you have something that has provided happiness in being made, and now again, you’ve given confidence to the crafter to return to the lathe and turn again.
