GICA offer several residencies each year to artists, curators, researchers and anyone else who is interested in exploring their practice in the context of the island and the institute. Residencies usually include a presentation at the beginning and the end, and normally result in a publication. MOBILE ART
TOURING
Audio Installation, October 4-6, 2013

For the past sixteen years, driving around the island in search of art has been a Gabriola tradition. Wile the event has multiple meanings, not the least of which iis the role it plays in the local economy, TOURING focuses on the audio aspect of this ritual. Using the recently acquired Mobile Response Unit, TOURING will be part guided tour, part pod play, part performance, and offer a different experience of going round and round in circles. Details to be announced in September 2013
