Strategic Plan Represencing the Rural STRATEGIC PLAN NONNONMEDIA Return to Homepage Chilliwack Biennal The Strategic Plan Curators Dinner November

"What is to be done?" Vladimir Iljich Lenin asked in 1902. While the answer he had in mind failed to produce the desired result, the question remains more pertinent than ever, especially for islands and other precarious communities. Designed to last well into the next millenium, the Strategic Plan is a nested project that aims to devise strategies that enable desire rather than outcome,

Since the inaugural planning session, held as a satellite event in conjunction with the 2010 International Chilliwack Biennal, the Strategic Plan has developed into a series of independently curated, parallel projects that range from theoretical analysis and descriptive modelling to community action plan.

sponsored by the Xenographic Society

The Work of the Institute is structured as a series of curated projects that may range in duration from the length of a phonecall to several years. While some are based in established disiplinary practice, GICA encourages artists and curators to explore speculative and transdisciplinary approaches. To propose a project, please send an email and allow 2-3 weeks for a response.
