Justine in the hot pool Jin-Bin in Chinese characters My name is Justine Jîn-Bín Yen Hansen. I was born at home on September 2nd, 1998, at 4:02am.

I go to French immersion Grade 4 at École Sperling Elementary School. My teacher really likes me and allows me to join a reading club, Red Cedar, which makes me complete a novel in a week or two. It is easy if the novel is fun, but not so much time if I don’t get to it until four days before the due date.

When I’m not in school, I play with Kristian & Nikolaj. We can think of such wonderful wild games. And we can draw, draw, draw; even Nikolaj can draw well now, like copying anything I draw. Besides drawing, Nikolaj is now big enough to play board games and card games. We all enjoy playing UNO, Lego city, tents, wild animal chase, & pillow fights.

I have many friends at school and often invite them home for play dates. When my friends are here, we often explore our backyard rain or shine, building new gates, fences, & tree houses. My imagination goes crazy, & is hard to control, especially the mess it produces.

I also learn to play the piano. I am good at inventing my own tunes; just for our church Christmas concert, I performed my own variations of Away in a Manger. I love making my own tunes! I have started violin since March! My teacher likes me very much and I like her, so I like playing the violin. Even though I am just a beginner, my ears somehow allows me to play any tune I like. My teacher does not like me to explore too much there because I tend to forget all the techniques. My brother and I like to play duets in all sorts of combinations (well, often he joins me uninvited, annoying me to no end).

It is fun being a nine-year old, happy to help, making new friends, learning new instruments & subjects. I have even started taking pictures with our digital camera. My thoughts are often on God, life, people. My father does not welcome all these deep questions after my bedtime, but my mother’s sympathetic ear always allows me to finish my sentence at least, then suggests that we continue our discussion the next morning (which never happens). You can’t blame me for having so many deep thoughts.

If you like, you can send me an e-mail with this form. I’d like to hear from you.

Good bye for now & have a great day!
