Episode II
After arriving in Meryton with Mr. Collins,
we see a busy street. Lydia and Kitty study a bonnet through a store window. They see Wickham
for the first time (accompanied by Denny). Kitty proclaims that Wickham is "mightily
good-looking".
The party at Mr. and Mrs. Philips has miscellaneous conversations and images
that are missing including:
- Lydia and Kitty giggling.
- Mary comes in carrying piano music and takes her usual place at the piano.
- Mr. Collins is talking with Jane, Lizzy and Mrs. Philips. He compares Mrs. Philips’
"charming" apartment to a "small summer breakfast room at Rosings." Mrs. Philips is
offended until Mr. Collins explains that Rosings Park is the residence of his noble
patroness Lady Catherine de Bourgh and that the "chimney piece in the second drawing
room alone cost 800 pounds."
- Elizabeth and Wickham smile at each other over the heads of Lydia and Kitty who
are pestering him.
- After Elizabeth’s heart-to-heart talk with Wickham, we see a few seconds of Lydia
and Wickham dancing.
After the Netherfield ball, right before Mr. Collins’ proposal, Kitty and Elizabeth
reflect on the events of the ball. Kitty comments that "Mary sang very ill" to
which Elizabeth replies: "Oh yes, poor Mary, but she is determined to do it." We also
discover that Mr. Collins trod on Kitty’s frock and tore it.
