=====  Mod News Item (June 17/09):
New website  . . . 
which is really not that new.  It's actually a rebuild of the old website with the Treats and Halls of Fame webpages removed.  I only have 10 MB of webspace and have to make the best use of it.  Fortunately, I can still host the download files on FilePlanet (thank you, thank you, thank you).  As some of you may know, everybody hosting their sites on Gamespy had to move their sites since they're shutting down the free hosting.  So here we are.  The Zy-El forum is still active and has members eager and willing to answer your questions about the mod.

Please note that although I'm working on the website, it does not mean that I've returned to modding.  Version 4.5 is still on hold at the moment.

=====  Mod News Item (Apr 11/08):
As expected . . . 
version 4.4 has a few minor bugs that will prompt the development and subsequent release of version 4.4a.  This interim patch version will include coding fixes as well as corrections to the mod guide which were found to be in error.  No exact release date has been scheduled as Kato wants players to play the mod and hopefully, turn up more bugs that need to be squashed.

In the meantime, version 4.4 is very playable and players can continue to collect Treasure Cards and develope their characters.

As promised . . . 
the version 4.4 Beta 3 has been released to the testers.  The New Mod Developments have been updated to reflect the significant progress that has been made.  It is looking very good for an April release . . . not April 1st.  Think I'm a fool?!?  Hahahahahaahaha - I'm in a good mood.

The full mod version 4.4 release is still tentatively scheduled for some time in April 2008.

=====  Mod News Item (Feb 12/08):
A small step . . . 
took another bite out of the coding assignment still required to complete version 4.4.  Note the subtle changes down below.  There are players clamouring to have the mod released earlier than April - I just don't see how it would be possible at this point.  The project is still only in Beta release at the moment and another version due out at the end of this month.  Kato has promised to release the Beta to the testers regardless of what progress has been made.

Though I cannot release the Beta version to the general public, I can release the updated Mod Guide for Version 4.4.  So, yes there will be a release at the end of February.  A PDF mod guide.

Managed to knuckle down and get some coding done.  Still a ways to go but April does not seem so far away now.   So, go check it out at the New Mod Developments.

Happy New Year!!!  
Some progress has been made on version 4.4.  However, the more work I do on this version, the more work I find needs to be done.  I know all of you have been anxiously awaiting this mod and I want to get it out to you.  I may push some action items over to version 4.5 and that would allow me to release 4.4 sooner.  I think we'd all be in favour of that.   So, go check out the New Mod Developments.

A number of players have requested Zy-El version 3.8B which I happened to still have on my hard drive.  Look for it in the Download section, near the end just above version 3.7 and below version 4.2.  Enjoy!!


=====  Mod News Item (Dec 04/07):
The lazy cat is still working on version 4.4.  
Updated some New Mod Development items.  Just doesn't seem to end.  The more I dig, the more work I find needs doing.  The Beta team is busy testing the latest beta version (not ready for release yet).  Myrghinoc continues to do code editing and graced us with a new set of DLL's.

I just want to also reiterate that there will NOT be a release before Christmas, contrary to previous rumours.  February 2008 is more realistic.

The lazy cat is slowly working on the version 4.4.  
Updated the New Mod Developments.  There's a lot of work still to be done, but some progress has been made - check it out for yourself.

Trying to coordinate all the changes going into this new version.  Myrghinoc continues to do some code editing and unit testing of the modified DLL's.  Decided to add new Minor Posters.  d2vern has kindly provided me with additional graphics.  Make no mistake, this is going to be a major release of the mod and may significantly alter your playing strategies.

The lazy cat has been sleeping . . . but is now awake.  
Just got back into playing Zy-El Diablo again.  Too much happening in RL to keep me occupied.  Life happens!

Development on version 4.4 is on-going with much thanks to Myrghinoc.  Still no set release date.  The graphic components of the new version have been completed.  Left to do are the cube recipes and treasure drop modifications.  Changed the Game Select screen and added some details about the new version - take a peek here

Been such a long time!  
Almost forgot how to play the game . . . forgot how fast everything moves in this game.

Well, I've put together the version 4.3 release with the updated Game Select screen.  There's two versions - FULL and LITE.  You guys know what it is.

Wow!  Has it really been that long since I last updated this site???! 
 

I've been caught up in a lot of RL issues and have been distracted from the game and modding totally.  I'm not officially back.  But others (d2Vern, Al-T, Myhrginoc) have been developing this mod in my stead - and with my full blessing.  Some of the fruits of their labour will be in this latest interim patch.  The updated MPQ will be released at a later date.
