           Captivated by Daddy's work...

John Durning, an active member and director of the Adams River Salmon Society, and well known for his love of the outdoors, moved to Canada from Scotland in 1973. With his wife Debbie and daughter Natasha - oops, don't forget the cat! - he now lives on the shores of Shuswap Lake, a place of natural beauty that brings inspiration to John's carvings. His strong belief in wildlife conservation and preservation is reflected in their themes.

"I spend many hours on the beach and in the hills around home searching for distinctive, unique pieces of wood to incorporate into my carvings, and in the spring I walk the bush in search of antlers shed naturally by moose and deer."             ... John
