Mello Meadow Farm 1530 Swan Road, 250-335-2368 |
|
|
Mello Meadow Farm is a 'hobby farm' sized operation producing small quantities of chicks and started birds for the small holdings or backyard poultry operation. Breeding flocks reflect on the number of each breed available. Mello Meadow's “business plan” is threefold: 1. breed and hatch Heritage Breed chickens, ducks, and turkeys for the Spring and early Summer seasons. 2. Obtain stock from hatcheries offering a choice of female only or male only chicks, making it unnecessary for the small holding and/or city dweller to have to deal with undesirable males. 3. Hatch and sell sight sex-able or “sex-linked” hybrids primarily aimed at the market desiring early spring “point of lay” birds. |
